2024 Spirit of Giving Campaign

Tukwila Parks & Recreation has joined forces with the Rotary Club of SeaTac-Tukwila for the 2024 Spirit of Giving Campaign. Your monetary donations and/or donations of toys, cozy items, hygiene essentials and gift cards will help ensure a healthy, happy winter for Tukwila families experiencing homelessness.

Last year we helped 430 children and their families with $38,000 in donations from generous community partners like you! This year, we expect the need to continue to grow, and that’s why we need your help!

Please make all donations on or before December 1, 2024. Thank you for your generosity!

How you can help:

✔️HOST a personalized event, such as Cozy Item Drive: blankets, mittens, gloves, hats, scarves and socks.

✔️DONATE new, unwrapped items at the Tukwila Community Center, such as grocery gift cards, Cozy Items (see above), hygiene items, toys and board games, and gift cards for teens.

✔️MONETARY DONATIONS can be made through the Rotary Club of SeaTac-Tukwila and allow us to customize family care packages. (EIN 27-4432912)

  • CHECKS  – make payable to SOUTHCENTER ROTARY FOUNDATION, PO Box 88744, Tukwila WA 98138.

Tukwila Day on November 16!

Calling all supporters of Green Tukwila! Join us at the Duwamish Hill Preserve on November 16, 2024 from 10am to 1pm.

Let’s come together for high fives, laughs, and some old fashion restoration! This event will focus on environmental education around healthy forests and rivers. Dig in and help plant an understory bush or shrub that will become a safe place for urban wildlife. Many hands make light work; join us for a day of fun!

No experience is necessary; all ages and identities are welcome. Tools, gloves, and instructions will be provided. This event is rain or shine, but let’s hope for shine!

Free Shred-A-Thon Event at the Tukwila Community Center on November 16

The Tukwila Police Department is partnering with the King County Solid Waste Division and Tukwila Parks and Recreation to host a shred-a-thon for residents at the Tukwila Community Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on November 16. This is a great opportunity to dispose of old, sensitive documents you no longer need. You can bring up to four file boxes or bags full of paper items to be shredded for free.

Please make sure documents are staple —and paper clip-free.

We will also be accepting brand-new board games or gift cards as part of Tukwila's Spirit of Giving Campaign to support local families in need. We would love if you could help us give back to the community! See you then!
