Los Rios is excited to introduce SAFE Los Rios, a new safety tool for students and employees. Download the free SAFE Los Rios mobile app today for campus safety resources at your fingertips! Features include the ability to:
- Discreetly contact and share your location with campus police in an emergency by using the app’s Panic Button.
- Request a Campus Safety Escort from the Los Rios Police Department to walk you to your vehicle or other campus location.
- Send your location to a friend so they can track you in real time as you walk across campus and arrive safely at your destination.
- Submit a non-emergency crime tip.
- Access campus safety procedures for emergencies that may occur on campus.

ARC President Lisa Cardoza Speaks at
State of Hispanics

ARC sister college, Cosumnes River College, hosted the 2024 Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce State of Hispanics event on September 13. The theme “My Voice, Our Gente, Your Future” marked the official kickoff of Hispanic Heritage Month and served as the premier platform for discussing the economic contributions and challenges faced by Hispanics across the Greater Sacramento Region.
CRC President Ed Bush and ARC President Lisa Cardoza spoke at the event, and President Bush participated in a panel discussion on Hispanic-serving institutions driving economic growth in the Greater Sacramento region.

New! Family Friendly Study Rooms
The ARC Library and Undocu Center have designated study rooms designed for students with children. These rooms offer a workspace with a computer for parents and a child-safe area to keep babies or toddlers engaged with learning panels. A third family-friendly study room will be opening by the end of the Fall semester.

ARC Theatre Presents, “Ghost Quartet” for a Limited Run
American River College Theatre presents Ghost Quartet, a haunting and dynamic musical by Dave Malloy, running September 13-22 at the Tech Lab Theatre. This student-led production explores love, betrayal, and timeless stories through live music and stunning vocal work. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm, and Sundays at 2:00 pm. Recommended $2 parking is available at College Oak and Myrtle.
