Crews continue to demolish the old bridge. For your safety and the safety of our crews, please stay clear of all construction activity. These areas are restricted to authorized personnel only.

Hutchison Street continues to be closed at North First Avenue. This closure is necessary for the construction of the new Hutchison Street and North First Avenue intersection and driveway for Del Taco. Del Taco will remain open during this time with temporary access from North First Avenue. Detour routes will be posted.

Crews constructing curb and gutter on Hutchison Street and North First Avenue.

SBCTA, in cooperation with the City of Barstow and BNSF Railroad, opened the new North First Avenue Bridge in July. The old bridge is currently being demolished. The replacement bridge enhances traffic safety, improves Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) access, enhances pedestrian walkways, and re-establishes a safe connection between the residential north portion and the downtown business district of the City of Barstow.
