Incident Reporting with the Boy Scouts of America
IMPORTANT - If an incident has occurred:
1. Take care of the injured/find a safe place.
2. Preserve and document the evidence/take photos if appropriate.
3. Complete an incident report and notify your local council.
Always visit the Middle Tennessee Council Health and Safety page for instructions: www.mtcscouting.org/healthandsafety
Timely, clear, concise, and complete incident reports allow for an appropriate response and an opportunity for analysis while promoting continuous improvement of our programs. You can report incidents, near misses, and youth protection / membership infraction incidents yourself at the link below, which will notify the council of the incident.
SAFE Checklist
To ensure the safety of participants, the Scouting America expects leaders to use the four points of SAFE when delivering the Scouting program. Do you know the points? We recommend they be reviewed with all parents and leaders before every meeting, activity, and campout. Are you SAFE?
