GGUSD's Class of 2024 Graduates Well Prepared for Future Success

More than 3,100 high school seniors from Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) graduated from the district’s eight high schools during graduation ceremonies held May 28-29 at the district’s stadiums at Bolsa Grande and Garden Grove high schools.


Among the Class of 2024, more than 1,000 students report that they have chosen to attend a UC or CSU school. Six students will be attending ivy league universities in the fall and 60 students have committed to service in the military. Additionally, students in the Class of 2024 finished high school with more than 8,400 Advanced Placement courses completed and earned more than 10,900 college credits through GGUSD’s dual enrollment opportunities. GGUSD's Class of 2024 is well-prepared with the academic and personal skills for lifelong success.

GGUSD to Offer Free Summer Meals

The Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) is offering its annual free Summer Meal program to help ensure that children have access to nutritional meals when school is not in session. The program will provide free summer meals to GGUSD students at 14 school campuses and two library sites.

Lake Intermediate School Hosts 8th Grade Promotion

Congratulations to the Lake eighth grade Class of 2024 on completing their intermediate school journey! These Dragons are sure to set the world on fire as they continue their academic and personal journeys in high school and far beyond.

Memorial Scholarship Awarded to Pacifica High School Student

At Pacifica's Senior Awards Night, the Christopher Hawley Memorial Scholarship was presented by Christopher's brother, Alex, and was awarded to Evelyn Nguyen for excellence in the Performing Arts. Congratulations to Evelyn who will be attending Boston University in the fall.


Christopher graduated from Pacifica in 2018 and SDSU in 2022 with a Theater Arts Degree. He tragically passed away in the summer of 2022 and is terribly missed by his family and community. This scholarship honors Christopher's memory by being awarded to a senior who demonstrates kindness, as well as a passion for the Arts.

Patton Elementary School Hosts 6th Grade Promotion

Congratulations to our Patton Elementary School sixth graders on successfully completing elementary school and preparing to move on to intermediate school! We are proud of ALL of our GGUSD sixth graders for achieving this significant milestone in their educational journey.

Jordan Intermediate School Hosts 8th Grade Promotion

Evans Elementary School Hosts 6th Grade Promotion

Evans Elementary School celebrated its sixth grade students with a festive ceremony filled with proud smiles, heartfelt speeches, and plenty of applause. Congratulations to all of our 6th graders – your hard work and perseverance have you well on your way to lifelong success (Goal 3🔵)

GGUSD Participates in the Annual Strawberry Festival

GGUSD student leaders from our eight high schools showcased their #GGUSDPride in the Garden Grove Strawberry Festival Parade alongside Board of Education President Teri Rocco, Vice President Lan Nguyen, Trustee Walter Muneton, Superintendent Gabriela Mafi and Assistant Superintendent Stephanie Heflin! Students decorated two school busses to highlight their love of school and community! We love participating in this parade to represent GGUSD, our award-winning schools and students, and all the district does to equip students with the academic and personal skills for lifelong success!
