Here's "The Scoop!"

“Early childhood educators are more powerful than simply being good with children. Their real power is having the ability to remember what it feels like to be a brand-new human in the world. They remember what it feels like to appreciate the magic in discovery. Their greatest power of all is that they chose to share that feeling with children in a fun, positive, meaningful and lasting way!” - Author Unknown

TA Tip: Care for the Caregiver

Thank you so much for choosing to be the keeper of our youngest learners, or as we lovingly like to call them, our tiny humans!

As an infant and toddler teacher, you play a vital role in the educational journey of all the children you care for; you are the foundation and the first real experience of school. Please know that you are so important, valued, adored, and respected for everything you do to make your children’s day full of all the things they need and some fun of course! Your tip for this week is to plan something just for you and celebrate the amazing, caring, and wonderful person and educator you are because you deserve it!

This moment of gratitude was graciously shared by Lindsey Parisi,

Lead Training and Technical Assistance Coordinator.

Guardians in the Nursery

This article focuses on the fundamental role that early childhood educators (ECEs) play in the lives of infants and very young children and their families—underscoring the power of early interactions and relationships between infant–toddler and preschool educators and the children in their programs. The authors explore the ECEs’ unique roles, perspectives, and skillsets that lend themselves, not only to working directly with the young ones in their care, but also for supporting families under stress as an opportunity to mitigate relational risks and foster intergenerational resilience. From a parallel perspective, the authors also address the critical need to foster the health and wellness of ECEs so that they, in turn, have optimal capacity to be fully responsive to the children and families they support.

Building a Partnership with Your Child's Teacher

Every child’s first and most important teachers are the family members who nurture their development and learning. When a child enters an early childhood program, her family’s partnership with the teachers ensures that the experience is comforting and successful for all.
