The Denver Trunk Show is well underway and we are so grateful to everyone that has come out to commemorate our last ever Trunk Show in our 4103 Auditorium. If you haven't made it out yet, this weekend will be your LAST CHANCE, so don't miss out!
We are proud that our Auditorium has hosted so many amazing events and individuals over the years, including Don Burrows (the Arkansas quartz miner), JoAnn Parks (Guardian of Max, the Crystal Skull), and even Robert Simmons (renown author of The Book of Stones). We look forward to continuing to bring you new events at our New Event Center at 11055 N IH-35.
October is a month full of ambiguity even down to the name. In ancient Rome, October was named such because it was the 8th month of the year. This name stuck even though it is now the 10th month of our Gregorian calendar. The two zodiac signs of October are Libra (associated with gentleness, light and beauty) and Scorpio (associated with intensity, darkness and power), which come off as polar opposites.
In October even our holidays are ambiguous. Whether you celebrate Columbus Day or Indigenous Peoples' Day on October 14th, the important thing to recognize is that there is always a reason to remember and honor our history. Although many associate Columbus Day with discovery and opportunity, it has been adopted by others as a day to celebrate Italian heritage. Indigenous Peoples' Day was first officially recognized in 1992 and celebrates the cultures and histories of the many tribal nations that existed before European settlers arrived. Then there is Halloween, on October 31, which is claimed by some Christian faiths as a holy day (All Hallows' Eve) and by others as a Pagan holiday inspired by Samhain. Regardless of the origins, we invite everyone to dress up and celebrate with us at our 4103 location for one more year! Bring the kiddos in costume on Thursday, October 31 for some non-sugar goodies.
Some highlights in this newsletter include:
- Learn about the Spinosaurus and why its tooth is the perfect amulet or adaptability
- Check out the multitude of opportunities to visit with us In the Community this month
- Show & Tell us how YOU rock by sharing your crystal creations
- Learn about Beryl and how it can be a Foundation Stone in your life
- Save the Date (and tell a friend) for our last Customer Appreciation Sale at our 4103 address
The flowers pictured above were a birthday bouquet I received from my Nature's Treasures Family, but I thought they would be nice to share with everyone to bring you joy before we move too deep into allergy and flu season

Please everyone, continue to stay safe and healthy.
Blessings,
Karen and the Staff

Build-Out of New Rock Depot & Retail Showroom
We are excited to announce that not only has our renovation project been registered with the State, but our plans will be submitted to the City for permitting this week. After meeting with our General Contractor, we have a better sense of when our move will actually take place (early January). Until then, we are petitioning TxDoT to extend our Vacate Date.
This hopefully means that our location at 4103 N IH-35 will stay open through the Holidays! Please let your friends and neighbors know so that we can continue to sustain ourselves until the Move happens! Word of mouth has always been our best marketing tool, so we cannot do it without YOU!

| | I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for your time, energy, and dedication at the Thrive & Shine mental health fundraiser on August 31st. Your commitment made this event a resounding success, and we couldn't have done it without you. I'm thrilled to share that thanks to the collective efforts, we raised over $5,000 from the evening! This incredible achievement will go a long way in supporting the vital mental health services we provide to children and families in our community. Whether you were helping set up, welcoming guests, an event vendor, or assisting with the silent auction, your contributions made a significant difference. The positive feedback we've received from attendees highlights just how well the event was executed, and that is a direct result of your dedication. Again, thank you for being an essential part of the Thrive & Shine fundraiser. We are so fortunate to have volunteers like you who believe in our mission. I look forward to the possibility of working together again in the future! ~Brittany Golden, Senior Director of Development

The Twelve Foundation Stones
of the Heavenly City: Beryl
| |
by: Adrienne Goff
This month’s twelve foundation stones article puts the spotlight on beryl—a radiant and multi-faceted family of gemstones that includes coveted treasures such as aquamarine, emerald, and morganite. The Bible is full of references to precious stones, with over a hundred verses that mention them. Here’s a fascinating one about beryl:
“His body was like beryl, his face like the appearance of lightning, his eyes like torches of fire, his arms and feet like burnished bronze in color, and the sound of his words like the voice of a multitude.” (Daniel 10:6 NKJV)
This verse is describing an angelic encounter had by the prophet Daniel while he was fasting and seeking divine support. Comparing the body of this angel to beryl conveys that it glowed with radiant, celestial energy.

Monthly Astrological Guidance by Julie Reeves
Astrology Overview for October
As we move into October, we can’t help but notice the end of the year on the horizon. Time tends to speed up, and with the cosmic skies busy this October, we are likely to feel a strong momentum pushing us along.
As we begin the month we are deep in the trenches of Eclipse Season. We may feel stuck between one state and the next, or that we are moving to something we can’t reach just yet.
As the Solar Eclipse arrives at the start of the month on the 2nd, we are welcomed with some fresh new energy. A new pathway may open for us, or we may feel the results of our hard work over the last six months finally come to fruition.
This Solar Eclipse is connected to the Eclipses we had back in March and April of this year, so whatever intentions or seeds were planted at that time may finally come to sprout in October.
As we reach the Aries Full Moon on October 17, the planetary waves will intensify, bringing a slew of busy cosmic activity! It is going to be important to come back to the energy of the Libra Sun, and try our best to find balance. We can’t do everything, we can’t be everywhere, and most importantly, we can’t be everything to everyone, so we will have to pick and choose what is really worth our time.
By the time the end of October rolls around, we may be feeling a little inspired, a little wired, and a little tired! Listening to our bodies and prioritizing rest as much as possible will help with this!

Featured Fossil: Spinosaurus
|
| | Spinosaurus meaning “spine lizard” went extinct nearly 99 million years ago. They lived in what is now North Africa. There are two varieties of this species that came from Egypt and a recent discovery found in Morocco. The Spinosaurus is documented as the largest of all terrestrial carnivores, grouped among other large carnivores, like the Tyrannosaurus Rex. They measured up to 59 feet long and could weigh as much as 23 tons. They are recognized mostly for their five foot tall, sail-like back structure which could possibly have helped regulate their body temperature within any environment. Much like crocodiles of today, the Spinosaurus was semiaquatic, living both on land and in the water. Their diet consisted of primarily fish and land animals. Spinosaurus teeth had a straight conical shape with no serrations. Are you biting off more than you can chew? Perhaps, harness your inner Spinosaurus (by carrying a fossilized tooth) to maintain a balance within your environment and make room for new adventures.

Featured Agate: Blue Lace Agate
Blue lace agate was originally marketed from a mine in Namibia. There are other locations around the world including Romania and Australia with distinct blue lace features, but the most productive mine was located in Ysterputs in southern Namibia. This mine had been exploited for this specific agate primarily for lapidary use since the 1960's until it became inactive in 2017. Blue lace agate is a hydrothermal agate that is formed in a Jurassic-dated sill that cuts through a Permian age sedimentary basin. It forms in a relatively thin vein. Blue lace agate is a popular mineral for jewelry-making because it polishes well, can be attractive, and has a hardness of 7, making it less susceptible to scratching. We have rough blue lace agate and cabochons available at Nature's Treasures!
