On October 3rd, Soroptimist International celebrates Founders Day, the day in 1921 when a group of committed female pioneers in Oakland, CA, gathered to form an organization committed to improving the lives of women and girls. Then-President Violet Richardson inspired the group with this hope: “Let us continue the work together and with others, toward the development of a better womanhood, a better manhood, and a better citizenship.” Happy 103rd Birthday to US!

Message from President Theresa Draper

Happy Fall Y'all! We are focused on building our membership and community presence this Fall. The Board in conjunction with Fundraising and Membership have secured some terrific opportunities for us to introduce Soroptimist of Chico and also talk about our Golf Tournament. I hope many of you will step up and sign up to help by committing to a couple of volunteer hours at the following events:

10 /9 - Hodges Family Nursery Fall Festival - 9681 Midway, Durham

11/ 2, 11/16, 12/ 7 and 12/ 21

Chico Certified Farms Market -

Downtown Chico

We will have a Sign-Up Genius with the exact hours, going out this week with the event details and time slots. With so many dates, there's opportunity for everyone to participate. Please help us spread the word about the great works our Club has done and continues to do for our community! Thank you!

*Retreat Announcement*

The Events Committee is sorry to have to announce that we will not be having our retreat as planned this year. It was a difficult decision but there were not enough registrations to fund the event. If you have already paid and would like a refund, the process will be announced at club. Another option is to make your payment a donation to the club.

Contact Nancy Hanson or Sue Ligon with questions.

Bring a Friend to Lunch Program!

Please text 530-518-4934 or email Kathy to rsvp in advance for your guests. Thank-you!!

SI Chico Member Survey

Click on the link below to read our newly revised and improved SI Chico Handbook. The Admin Committee has been hard at work making these changes for some time and hooray...it's complete! There is a ton of great info to learn and history about our club too.

SI Chico Handbook

We are looking for a member who is interested in continuing to track our club's activities for the sake of posterity. If you like this idea, the Comm Comm group would love to chat with you more about what this would entail. It's an easy job, done from home and so important to our club now and in the future.

A great way to make a contribution to SI Chico.
