Notable and Newsworthy

Frank Lin, MD served as faculty at the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine & Urogenital Reconstruction Research Foundation Resident Preceptorship 2024. He presented one lecture, moderated two panels, and was a panelist in a complex case discussion.


This is an annual resident preceptor course where residents from all over the United States and Canada attend a 2-day FPMRS course. The goal of the resident preceptor course is to provide education in FPMRS and highlight what this specialty has to offer. Over 330 residents have attended the course over the past 5 years.




David Paolone, MD has completed his six-year term as Historian for the North Central Section of the American Urological Association. Kyle Richards, MD will be taking over this position as his successor.




Kyle Richards, MD has been invited to serve as speaker in the 25th Annual Fall Scientific Meeting of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA). SMSNA holds high content standards and aims to provide a high educational and scientific value to its participants.




Sarah McAchran, MD served as Program Faculty at the American Urological Association (AUA) Review Course: Kuwait Chapter in August. This is a new partner and program for the AUA and Dr. McAchran served as one of four International Speakers.

Drs. Landman and Knoedler also share their experience as the first two people to use a new minimally invasive robotic approach to percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) during recent clinical trials of the MONARCH™ Robot Platform.

Shining a Light on Prostate Cancer

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month - a time to make more people aware of this highly prevalent disease, its impact on the lives of the many men affected by it, and exciting advancements that will improve the lives of prostate cancer patients.


According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in men (behind lung cancer). The National Cancer Institute estimates that prostate cancer will be diagnosed in more than 299,000 men in the U.S. in 2024.


And the number of cancers found at an advanced stage continues to rise.
