Community Health Endowment
Making Lincoln Healthier
Since inception, CHE has reinvested more than $43.6 million back into the community in grants to support health related projects.
Among their many contributions include convening Community Conversations around important topics that impact the health of our community, including recently hosting the U.S. Surgeon General.
Their community mapping project, Place Matters, which identifies factors such as poverty, access to healthy foods, life expectancy and youth fitness, provides a picture of how where you live impacts health. Read more in their October highlight.

Flu, RSV, COVID Update
Fall is upon us. In other words, it’s virus time. Kids are back in school, a great petri dish for cooking up viruses to take home to the rest of the family - which parents can then take to the office to their co-workers.
The new flu vaccine addresses the 3 currently circulating strains. If you want to avoid getting or spreading the flu, October is an ideal time to schedule your flu shot.
If you're over 65, or you have infants and toddlers, it's also a good time to talk to you healthcare provider about protecting yourself against RSV.
And no, COVID isn't over. In 2023, COVID-19 was still the underlying or contributing cause of 76,446 deaths, and is still on pace to be more lethal than flu.

Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving and protecting the health, wellness, and fitness of Lincoln's children, families, and seniors.
We work to improve wellness policies and conduct community level health research. We collaborate with community partners to promote healthy weights through good nutrition and fitness, improve child and maternal health by supporting breastfeeding, create better patient outcomes by increasing cancer screening and vaccination rates, improving chronic disease management, increasing preventative outreach, and standardizing clinical practices. During public health crises like the COVID 19 pandemic, we help to protect community health by providing science and evidence-based information.
Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln also works to improve health equity in our community, addressing disparities among racial and ethnic populations with the highest burden of chronic disease. Systemic racism is also a threat to community health. We stand in solidarity with everyone who is fighting for greater equality and justice for all.
