Sunday Worship

This past Sunday we welcomed Weston Paul McAllister into the church with Holy Baptism. Welcome, Weston!

Also, congratulations to Sunday School students on their first chimes musical offering. We hope to hear more from you as you enjoy music in church.

Vision-In-Action Update:

This week St. Francis signed a contract with Brandt Construction for the renovation and expansion to our facility. Now that we have a contract in place, the sub-contractors will begin putting together orders for materials and then Brandt can begin building a timeline for construction.

We hope that you are as excited for the End of Year Celebration at which we will not only congratulate our students and offer gratitude for our teachers at St. Francis, we will all share in the ground breaking for our Vision In Action Building Campaign.

We pray that you will join us for this most festive day. It will occur on May 19th, The Day of Pentecost, so be sure to wear something RED!

Thanks and peace,

Fr. Davies+

Celebrate with St. Francis!

Sunday, May 19th

10:00 am | Holy Eucharist and Groundbreaking

Join us for worship on the Feast day of Pentecost, the day God taught the hearts of God's faithful people by sending us the light of the Holy Spirit. During the 10:00 am Holy Eucharist we will celebrate our Sunday School classes and our graduates. Before we are dismissed from worship, we will move outside to symbolically break ground on our renewal building project.

 11:30 am | Parish Picnic

Following the Holy Eucharist celebration, we will party with our annual parish picnic. St. Francis will provide fried chicken, a vegetarian option, and drinks. Please bring a side dish, dessert, or something else to share. A bounce house and crafts will be available for children—young and the young at heart.

Volunteers Needed!!

Many hands are needed to help spread the feast and to clean up after the picnic! Please contact us to help out at info@stfranciszionsville.org or sign up on the narthex table.

Celebration Coffee Hour

Join us this Sunday, May 5th for a festive coffee hour to celebrate our Parish Administrator, Meghan McConnell, as she leaves St. Francis to begin seminary. She will preach at both services.

Community Gardens

The St. Francis Community Garden plots are now available for rental! Plots of roughly 20' by 20' are available for rent at St. Francis In-The-Fields. The cost is $30 per plot, with an additional $30 deposit that is returned at the end of the growing season if the plot is maintained. This includes the cost of the water, which is available in the field.

Our Community Garden offers the opportunity to grow your own vegetables or flowers, as well as supporting local food pantries. We ask that 10% of all produce is donated to local food pantries, with collection at the church.

Waycross Men's Retreat

The Waycross Men’s Retreat on May 17-19 2024 is open for registration! The men’s retreat will focus on fellowship, sharing our stories, and learning Benedictine spiritual practices. There will also be plenty of free time for hiking, reading, relaxing, conversations, or reflection. We will have opportunities for community prayer time, a service on Sunday, music, spiritual reflection, Labyrinth walking, and a fire circle. The program will start Friday night after dinner (6:30pm) and will end at noon (lunch) on Sunday. There is an option for arriving on Thursday for a quiet day. The retreat will be led by Br. Abraham, a monk from St. Gregory’s Abbey, a Benedictine Monastery in the Episcopal Church.

Food Pantry Volunteers

Help us feed our neighbors! Volunteers are needed to deliver food pantry donations from St. Francis to The Caring Center in Lebanon. This simple, easy ministry involves picking up food from St. Francis and driving it to the Food Pantry. The delivery times are flexible, but we traditionally drop off on Monday or Tuesdays. On Monday, the Caring Center is open from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. On Tuesday, the Caring Center is open from 11am - 5pm. The Caring Center is closed on the third Tuesday of each month.
