IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR DRINKING WATER

Availability of Monitoring Data for Unregulated Contaminants for the Village of Blissfield Drinking Water – 1st and 2nd Quarter.

Our water system has sampled for a series of unregulated containments. Unregulated contaminants are those that don’t yet have a drinking water standard set by EPA. The purpose of monitoring for these contaminants is to help EPA decide weather the contaminants should have a set standard. As our customers, you have a right to know that this data is available. A copy of Blissfield’s results for the January 2024 and April 2024 sampling are on the reverse side of this notice. Please contact Nora Kiefer, Blissfield water treatment supervisor at 517-486-3350 or waterplant@blissfieldmichigan.gov, if you have any questions regarding the results.

Explanation of attached report: You will see five (5) columns,

1)     The date of collection for the sample

2)     Analyte – the contaminant that was being tested for

3)     Result measurement - < MRL in the Result field indicates the result was less than the UCMR minimum reporting level (MRL). Only analytical results at or above the UCMR MRL are reported to the EPA.

4)     Minimum reporting limit (MRL) - The MRL is defined as the smallest measured concentration of a substance that can be reliably measured by using a given analytical method.

5)     EPA Status – Shows that our results have been received and approved by the EPA.
