As part of the HRBT Expansion Project, construction crews will implement weekly lane closures, detours and traffic pacing on local roads, I-64 and the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. Travel restrictions include possible delays, reduced speeds and detours in some areas. Lane closure, detours and traffic pacing are subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors.

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east at W. Bay Avenue to W. Evans Street from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east at Willoughby Bay Bridge from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east/west at 4th View to Willoughby Bay Bridge from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Thursday, August 8

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east from W. Bay Avenue to W. Evans Street from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Multiple stoppages on I-64 east from W. Bay Avenue to W. Evans Street from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Each stoppage may last up to 10 minutes.
  • Single lane closure on I-64 east from W. Evans Street to Bayview Street from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.


Friday, August 9

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east from W. Bay Avenue to W. Evans Street from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • Multiple stoppages on I-64 east from W. Bay Avenue to W. Evans Street from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • Each stoppage may last up to 10 minutes.

Motorists should expect delays or take alternate routes. As always, motorists are encouraged to slow down, eliminate distractions and pay careful attention while driving through the construction zone.
