Reminders

Kon'nichiwa, Japan!

Dear families,

We’re going to Japan  in Summer 2025, and you’re invited!

We’re excited to tell you more about the trip we’re planning with EF Tours, our educational travel partner. Please be sure to register for this info session to be considered for this opportunity: https://rsvp.eftours.com/tx6xcse

The Information session will take place on May 2nd at 6:00pm in room 411 at the high school.

When students travel, they expand their knowledge of the world around them, discover more about themselves, and grow more confident. These skills are critical for creating the global citizens of tomorrow, and we would love to have your student join us on this adventure.

In this info session, we’ll talk about:

  • How this opportunity will benefit your student
  • What we’ll see and do on our trip
  • Everything that’s included in this experience
  • How your child can earn academic credit
  • How we’re keeping this safe and affordable
  • How to enroll on this trip (before it fills up!) during EF’s risk-free enrollment period

There are limited spots on this trip, so we would love to have you attend this meeting to learn more about this exciting opportunity!

Please contact Mr. Mesh if you have questions.

Your gift will enable us to provide heartfelt gestures of appreciation, reminding our educators and staff that their hard work is valued and cherished.

Congratulations to Robotics!

Please join us in recognizing CECFC’s HS Robotics Teams, Frostbyte and C --, and their dedicated coach, Evan Mesh.

Evan and his teams, supported by the fabulous Kathleen Kingdom, spent three days competing at this year’s VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas. This esteemed event featured 820 teams from all 50 states and over 60 countries. Only the top 5.95% of all VEX Robotics teams earned a spot to this prestigious event.

Team Frostbyte, consisting of Tripton H, Elias B, and Hosea M, placed 63rd out of 82 teams in the Opportunity Division but unfortunately didn’t advance to the division playoffs.

Team C --, comprised of seniors Tyler P, Dietrich H, and Spencer L, achieved 21st place out of 82 teams in the Math Division. Although they advanced to the division playoffs, they were eliminated in the first round. This brings their high school robotics journey to a close, marking the end of an incredibly successful team run as they prepare to graduate this year.

Both teams exhibited exceptional commitment and perseverance throughout the season. Congratulations on an outstanding year! We eagerly await their future successes both on and off the field.

Please consider donating to our Robotics Program by clicking the button below. Support our award-winning robotics teams with your gift to help cover expenses for robotics kits, team registrations, and competitive event costs. Thank you!

Security Update

CECFCHS has implemented a new sign-in/sign-out system to help us keep our students and staff safe.

Raptor’s sign-in/sign-out system where students and staff can record their entry and exit times upon arrival and departure from the school building helps to ensure accurate accounting of individuals and real-time tracking of who is in the building at any given time. Using a sign-in/sign-out system is essential for school safety. Here’s why:

  • Emergency Preparedness: In the event of an emergency, the sign-in/sign-out system serves as a valuable tool for quickly identifying who is present in the building. This information is crucial for emergency response efforts and ensuring the safety of all individuals on campus.
  • Restricted Access: Only current students and staff can sign in using their IDs. This helps prevent unauthorized individuals, such as former staff or students from gaining access to the school building.
  • Real-Time Tracking: The system has real-time tracking capabilities, allowing school administrators to monitor the presence of individuals in the building at any given time.
  • Centralized Data Management: All sign-in/sign-out data is managed and easily accessible to authorized personnel, facilitating efficient accounting and tracking of individuals in the school building.

By implementing a comprehensive sign-in/sign-out system with the features outlined above, schools can ensure accurate accounting of individuals, real-time tracking capabilities, and enhanced security measures to safeguard the school community. Please click HERE to learn how the system works. Contact Court Sheffield if you have questions.

CEC PARENT RESOURCES

Everyone is welcome!

No volunteering, no commitment.

Our Parent Resource Group meetings are friendly and casual, a place for parents to meet other CEC families and share stories, ask questions, and find information. Any questions brought up are placed as an agenda item for our SAC (School Accountability Committee) meetings with CEC Leadership.

Research shows that when parents are involved in their children's education, they benefit emotionally, socially, and academically.

We all meet regularly to have fun and organize events. Be part of our team! Visit our website or email cecfcsac@gmail.com if you're interested.

Next SAC Meeting: April 24th at 3:00pm at the HS

Thank you very much, CEC Parents!
