Local History of the GAR - May 11th @ 10:30 am

In honor of Memorial Day, come learn the local history of the GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) with Bob Cottrell on Saturday, May 11th at 10:30 am in the Periodical Room. The GAR was founded in April 1866 and disbanded in 1956 when the last surviving member died. The GAR was a benevolent, fraternal organization composed of Union Veterans of the Civil War. It grew to include hundreds of “posts” (local community units) throughout the country.

As the Spring dawns upon us so do the mushrooms! This period of time is known as the season of new beginnings and growth, where all kinds of flowers, herbs, and mushrooms bloom and sprout.


Just in time for the spring foraging season, Eric Milligan, an avid mushroom forager, will share his knowledge about the wild mushrooms of the area. Eric's program will be about how to find, identify, and the best way to enjoy eating wild mushrooms. Eric owns the New Hampshire Mushroom Company


The Friends of the Conway Public Library is kindly sponsoring this event. This program is part of the Friends of the Library Program Series.

Poetry Group

The Poetry Group will meet every 1st Thursday of the month in the Periodical Room from 4:00-5:30 pm. The Writer/Poetry Group, where fellow lovers of poetry are encouraged to come to write & read their poetry or recite poems from their favorite authors. May's theme is the Zodiac signs: Fire (Aries) and Earth (Taurus) Have you ever felt fire and passion about something or someone? What grounds you, roots you to the earth?

Book Discussion Group

Maker Space


May 29th @ 4:00pm

Maker Space is for kids over

age 5 and teens to drop in and create! There will be a variety of STEAM activities to choose from.


LEGOs and other building materials will always be available, in addition to arts and crafts activities, simple food preparations, and more!

Kids under age 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Bedrock Gardens!

​Bedrock Gardens is a public garden that integrates unusual botanical specimens and unique sculptures into an inspiring landscape journey. This 30-acre site has recently transitioned from a historic farm and private garden to a public oasis of art, horticulture, and inspiration.

  

To borrow a Conway Public Library museum pass, you must have a current Conway Public Library card in good standing, and pick up the pass at the Library. Please check out the other museum passes we offer.
