WesternU College of Dental Medicine receives $300,000 grant from Delta Dental Community Care Foundation |
Western University of Health Sciences’ College of Dental Medicine (CDM) received a $300,000 grant from the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Delta Dental of California and affiliates, to support direct patient care services and to purchase equipment for CDM’s educational programs.
CDM has collectively received more than $2.1 million from the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation, including a $1 million grant for student scholarships, since 2017.
“We deeply appreciate the ongoing support from the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation for WesternU Health Oral Diagnostics and Comprehensive Care,” said WesternU College of Dental Medicine Dean Elizabeth Andrews, DDS, MS. “At WesternU CDM, we are honored to enhance access to oral health care for our community, particularly for those who are most in need and who would otherwise lack basic care.”

Colgate-Palmolive Company (NYSE:CL) in partnership with Western University of Health Sciences’ College of Dental Medicine (CDM) today announced the expansion of the Colgate StuDENT mobile app to provide educational content for students pursuing careers in oral health care.
WesternU CDM, located in Pomona, California, has added new content for app-users to supplement the in-class education received by dental students everywhere.

CHS-Northwest faculty Neha Dewan, PT, MPT, PhD, as co-investigator and her colleagues have been awarded CAD $25,000 in funding for their successful application to the CIHR-IMHA Inclusive Research Excellence Prize Competition titled "Accelerating a Culture Shift and Behavior Change: Co-developing a Patient Engagement in Research Toolkit," which aims to drive meaningful progress in patient engagement practices.

We are excited to announce the appointment of Dr. Steve Snyder to Assistant Vice Provost of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.
Since 2012, Dr. Snyder has served as core Physical Therapy faculty, teaching Anatomy to our professional and post-professional students. Over the years, Dr. Snyder has taught additional coursework including: Instructional Media, Prosthetics and Orthotics, and Gait. For many years, Dr. Snyder has worked with CETL presenting CETL sessions, instructing at Academic Bootcamps, and has been instrumental in developing innovative teaching strategies, which include the utilization of teaching technology such as the Anatomage table, 3D printers, and mobile devices.
Dr. Snyder has served as the Assistant Dean of Technology and Innovation for the College of Health Sciences for the past two years and helped to develop the new Classroom East and Classroom West. In his new role leading CETL, Dr. Snyder will continue teaching the Anatomy I and II courses for the Physical Therapy program. Although Dr. Snyder’s presence will be missed, we wish him the best in his endeavors and appreciate his hard work and continued contributions to the College of Health Sciences.

We invite you to learn about the variety of cases they experienced, the research behind the interventions provided, and the lessons they learned in the clinics. We look forward to engaging in conversations with peers and discussing the interprofessional opportunities that are present in health care.
There will be “Oscar-style” voting in the following categories: Most interesting, Best DPT presenter/Most engaging, Most creative poster, Most ready for professional Conference presentation, and most unusual physical therapy referral.
