August Means A New School Year, Follow-Up of Another Group of Graduates

August is here! That means the start of another school year.

Above you see a photo of the JAG-K staff for the 2024-2025 school year. We recently completed four days of training in preparation for our 12th year of operation. The people pictured are eager to make this another great year of helping students prepare for successful futures.

Before we begin the new year, let's take a quick look at the past year:

The data for the Class of 2023 is in and our graduation rate for that class is 96 percent, while our full-time positive outcomes rate is 84 percent. That means 84 percent of our students in follow-up were either in post-secondary education, military service, or employed on a full-time basis 12 months after they left high school.

An important part of our staff's work in 2024-2025 will be to "follow-up" with the graduates of 2024. This is the support we provide seniors monthly for 12 months following their senior year.

This year, we will have 795 students from the Class of 2024 in follow-up. This group still has 25 non-graduates, so we will be working with them to either get their diploma through credit recovery, or a G.E.D. through a partner organization or program. We will also continue to work with them on their post-secondary plans and goals.

We wish you a wonderful end to the summer, when many are squeezing in vacations, trips to the lake or relaxing in the cool air conditioning. The JAG-K staff is ready and excited for another school year to begin!
