Dear Parents,
I hope this message finds you all well and settling comfortably into the new school year. As we wrap up our second week of school, I wanted to reflect on our progress and share some important updates and reminders.
First and foremost, I am thrilled to report that our students are showing remarkable progress and dedication as they immerse themselves in their studies. Their positive energy and eagerness to learn have been genuinely inspiring. Our equally enthusiastic teachers work tirelessly to create engaging and effective learning experiences for all our students.
I want to express my gratitude to the parents of children in VPK and our K-2 program for their efforts in ensuring their children arrive at school on time. Kids in our elementary school programs should be IN THEIR SEATS by 8:20 to ensure a successful day. So far, all students are participating in the weekly music program and are learning so much from Ms. Laura, our Music teacher.
As we continue to build our routines and establish our goals for the year, there are a few key points I'd like to highlight:
Academic Progress: Our teachers are dedicated to assessing student progress and identifying areas where additional support may be needed. We believe in fostering a supportive environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive. Please encourage your child to communicate openly with their teachers if they have questions or need assistance. This open dialogue is crucial for their success, and we are committed to supporting them every step of the way.
Extracurricular Activities: We offer 2 weekly ballet and karate classes from 3:00 to 3:45 for a charge of $16. We encourage students to explore these opportunities. Participation in these activities enriches the educational experience and helps develop teamwork and leadership skills.
KINDNESS 101 Lesson 1: This week's kindness topic was RECIPROCITY. This word means to share kindness with others who have been kind.. Our elementary students watched the five-minute video of a man who attends Harvard Law School. He celebrates the janitors, cafeteria people and sales associates in the stores on campus. He explained that these workers are always doing kind things for the Harvard Law students but often get forgotten.
Our First Graders spoke about people in their lives who always do so much for us that we may forget to thank or show our appreciation. Students decided to write a thank you note to Ms. Maria, our school cook. Every day she provides healthy snacks and lunch for the whole school; she deserves a big thank you!
Parent-Teacher Communication: Open lines of communication between parents and teachers are not just important; they are crucial for student achievement. If you have any concerns or need to discuss your child's progress, please do not hesitate to contact us or schedule a meeting. We value your input and partnership in your child's education and encourage you to participate actively in their learning journey.
Updates: Thank you to everyone who has completed their Papa John's fundraising forms. We will continue to collect them through 8/29, and the cards will arrive the following week. Remember, all proceeds from this sale will go toward plants for our garden program. Please try to sell 5-10 cards per family to your friends, family, and coworkers. You can put cash or a check in the envelope, or we can bill the cards to your Brightwheel accounts. The school gets to keep $10 from every $15 card, and cards are good for 50% off all online orders for a year. Cards can also be used for in-school birthday celebrations.
Also, we would be CLOSED on September 2, 2024, for Labor Day. Lastly, please visit our Kids for Kids website in the Parents Corner and read through our parent handbook. There is various information regarding uniforms, sick policies, activity calendar and many more. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation. Together, we can ensure that this school year is productive and rewarding. If you have any questions or need assistance, please get in touch with the school office at 305-232-0606.
Reminders: Please don't forget to check your child IN/OUT daily. Thank you
I wish everyone an enjoyable weekend!
