Garden Checklist for September


The kids are back in school, days are noticeably shorter, and Halloween decorations are filling local stores. Though reminiscent of the cooler fall weather we anticipate, the reality is that we in Ventura County still have a bit of heat with which to contend – and so do our gardens.

Save Our Citrus

Citrus Quarantine Update


A large portion of Ventura County is currently under quarantine to prevent the devastating transmission of huanglongbing disease (HLB) by Asian Citrus Psyllids (see photo above).


HLB kills citrus trees; there is no cure - only prevention. By inspecting your backyard citrus, you can prevent the disease from taking hold and save our citrus.
