The South Carolina Telehealth Alliance (SCTA) is a statewide collaboration of many organizations dedicated to expanding access to telehealth services across South Carolina, with a focus on underserved and rural communities.



As a statewide resource, the SCTA provides guidance with telehealth strategic development, technology and equipment, education, billing and reimbursement, and other areas of need to ensure an open-access network.

Palmetto Connect, PCC's Digital Inclusion Program, provides digital literacy training, digital device accessibility, internet access assistance, and technical support to the community. Since its launch in 2021, 1589 South Carolinians, ages 20-96, have received digital literacy training in 32 counties.

PCC’s Chief Executive Officer Kathy Schwarting and Chief Technology Officer Matt Hiatt attended AnchorNets, the Schools, Health & Libraries Broadband (SHLB) Coalition’s 12th annual conference, in Crystal City, VA. 


This year’s broadband conference focused on various federal broadband funding opportunities, including the IIJA Programs, Emergency Connectivity Fund, the Treasury Department Capital Projects Fund, as well as E-rate, Rural Health Care, and digital equity programs.
