The League of Chicago Theatres is marching on State Street THIS Saturday October 19 starting at 6pm and YOU'RE INVITED TO JOIN US! 

Walk, dance, or strut, your way down the Arts in the Dark parade with the League. Everyone from the Chicago Theatre Community is encouraged to join us for this one night only event. This parade is a special opportunity to showcase the talent and creativity of our member theatres while lighting up our city together!

Our theme for this year's parade is WICKED - we have plenty of glow-in-the-dark face paint and witch hats to share, but we encourage you to dress up as your favorite character from the beloved musical to walk with us. Please encourage members from your organization to join us and sign up to participate by visiting our website.

Submit Your Shows to ChicagoPlays.com for the Holiday Theatre Guide



The League’s professionally-printed Holiday Theatre Guide will include productions happening from November 18 through December 31. Guides will be distributed across the city and festivals.

To ensure your shows are included in the Holiday guide, your show pages must be on ChicagoPlays.com by THIS Friday, October 18. Please note that only shows listed on ChicagoPlays.com will be included in the guide. If you have any questions or need help logging into your account on ChicagoPlays.com, contact hayley@chicagoplays.com.

New advertisement opportunities for your show are available! If you are interested in placing an ad, contact hayley@chicagoplays.com for details. Ad space reservations are due by Tuesday, October 22.

Half-Price Holidays Returns on Hot Tix!

From December 5-15, Hot Tix will offer half-price tickets to shows taking place through the end of 2024. This year, ALL shows are eligible to participate, not just holiday-themed performances!

Please complete the online participation form here no later than Friday, November 15. We are excited to bring back this popular promotion to drive more ticket sales for your theatre this holiday season!

ANNOUNCING THE NEW AND REVISED BLACK THEATRE ALLIANCE AWARDS (BTAA)

The Black Theatre Alliance Awards (BTAA) was founded in 1995 by the late Vincent Williams. Mr. Williams, a Chicago Actor, Singer, and Producer had one plan, goal, and mission for BTAA, “to highlight and honor Black Excellence in Professional Theatre in the greater Chicagoland area”. This extremely important mission will remain in place for the new and revised BTAA.

To formally announce (and launch) the new and revised BTAA, there will be a Meet and Greet Reception on Monday, October 28, 2024, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at the Goodman Theatre. If you can attend, please email info@btaachicago.com no later than Friday, October 25, 2024, at 5PM with your name, cell phone number, and email address.
