Each week, our Middle School Assistant Headmaster, Mr. Dorion Simmons, shares practical tips for student success.
GOAL SETTING FOR THE NEW ACADEMIC YEAR
-
Homework & studying - Organization is key for keeping track of multiple assignments and multiple classes | keeping an agenda is essential.
-
Essays and projects - Have a plan to break large assignments down into smaller parts with deadlines for each step.
-
Reading - Reading is an integral part of a great hearts education. Your scholar should be engaged in reading every night.
-
Extracurricular activities - With school work being a priority, extracurricular activities can help balance academics while building other skills.

Road Work on Bullard Ave/Palm Ln. starts August 19 |
Construction on Bullard Ave is expected to begin on Monday, August 19 and last for two weeks. The lanes will be reduced on Bullard, and there will be no left turn out of Granada/Palm Ln. onto Bullard Ave. and no turning into Granada/Palm Ln from Bullard Ave. The U-turn onto Bullard (from south to north) will remain open. We ask for your patience as we adapt to the altered traffic patterns. Please reach out to our campus safety coordinator, Mike Johnson, with any questions.
Below is a rough map of one phase of construction to give you an idea of what you may encounter. There are several iterations to traffic flow changes, so please be patient and expect delays.

School Messenger Communication
Great Hearts and Trivium Prep continue to utilize the system School Messenger for emails, robo-calls, and text messaging to inform families of campus related academy emergencies and other communications. SchoolMessenger has a new automatic opt-in for text feature. During the registration/re-enrollment process families confirmed their wish to participate in text communications. Great Hearts will now automatically opt in contact information given during the registration/re-enrollment process with the options you selected. You will notice at the beginning of July you will be opted in for text messaging. If you would like to opt out of text messages simply reply STOP to the text from 67585. You can also enter the code 67585 with the message STOP to block any text messaging. Please note, if opting out, you will not receive texts regarding emergencies on campus.
