Enjoy Story Time in the Park with the Dallas Public Library, and let your young children practice the skills they need to read. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, featured books include "Plantaños Are Love" by Alyssa Reynoso-Morris, "The Three Tamales" by Eric Kimmel, "Mango, Abuela & Me" and "Evelyn Del Rey is Moving Away" by Meg Medina, and "Chicks & Salsa" by Aaron Reynolds. Hear stories, sing songs, jump around and learn!

The 19th Annual DanceAfrica Festival is an energizing celebration of African art, live dance, music and more. Bring the whole family to explore the sights and sounds of Africa, as the Dallas Black Dance Theatre performs and pays homage to the past, present and future of African heritage. Honor old traditions and learn new ones while shopping from more than 30 local vendors.

iDANZ & M.O.M. Crew | 1 - 2 PM
We are breaking it down in style for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Pink is the name, and cancer is no game, so we are creating awareness with some noteworthy events. Pop off the day with a performance by iDANZ and the M.O.M. Crew. Then watch or take breakdancing lessons with Battle Grounds, before stretching your limits with Black Swan Yoga. To close it out, the Nancy Best Fountain will be rose-colored for a splash-tacular special the nights of October 12 and 13. We are thinking pink!

Lap this up for your four legged friends - Yappy Hour is back! Sniff out some tail-wagging treats and gift your hound a fetching personal pet portrait from Gonzo Tails. Then dig deep into the offerings from The Pet’s Table, a specialized dog food delivery service. Finally, reward your own good behavior by partaking in a tasty brew from Celestial Beerworks (humans only, 21 and up).

Date Night in the Park

Pavilion Stage / Reading and Games Room
Studio 22 and the Creative Arts Center of Dallas are hosting Date Night in the Park! First, shake things up with some salsa dancing, as Studio 22 struts their stuff beginning at 6 PM. Then take a break at 7 PM to accessorize your night with an ear-restistible jewelry class and stone carving demo (sure to make it a rock-solid evening!). Add a little something from La Parada, and the whole night becomes a one-stop shop for food, creativity and dance!

Musician Showcase

Pavilion Stage
Music lovers will jam over the new Musician Showcase which features local talent tuning up and performing in public spaces across Dallas. Eight artists will be strumming up live music all fall—later this month, Klyde Warren Park welcomes indie singer/songwriter, Sam Cormier. Tune into our website calendar for upcoming appearances (five different artists in November!) and check out some gigs that are sure to “amp” up the local music scene.
