How to participate in the 42nd Annual Hunger Walk:

1. Register to Walk on the Hunger Coalition website (link below) OR in person on the day of the walk.

2. Gather Donations - you, your family, and friends can support your walk by donating via the Hunger Coalition website or by cash or check made payable to the "Henderson County Hunger Coalition." Donations can be turned in on the day of the Annual Walk or by mail to:

3. Walk! - Saturday, September 28, 2024, Lennox Station at 441 S Whitted St, 8:00 Registration Opens, 8:30 Walk Begins.

THERE IS NO RAIN DATE - We will walk RAIN or SHINE!

We are have significantly upgraded our Clothing Assistance Department! We now have have dedicated spaces for women's, children's, and men's clothing. The total area for clothing will be larger and IAM will be able to offer more clothing items from which to select.

Thanks to everyone who donates to IAM to help preserve our neighbors health and dignity with the proper clothes and shoes to improve their lives!

We are excited to announce the promotion of two of our team members in the IAM Pantry. Stefanie Walton will now be IAM's Food Procurement Director and Anthony Acosta will replace Stefanie as our new Pantry Manager.

Stefanie and Anthony are already making great improvements in the variety and quality of nutritious foods offered, as well as in the quality of IAM's pantry services provided to our neighbors in need!

IAM's 40th Anniversary Celebration will be October 10th from 5 - 8 p.m. at Kenmure Country Club. Sponsorships of this milestone event are available at levels starting at $250 and up.

The need for crisis assistance in Henderson County is greater than ever - and IAM is in critical need of volunteers to help us meet that need.

Volunteers are an essential part of IAM's operations. We have several departments and several positions within each department. 

IAM volunteers can choose one or more roles within one or more departments.

FOOD ASSISTANCE WORKER: Receive and stock food donations. Assist neighbors shopping in the pantry.  

CLOTHING ASSISTANT WORKER: Sort incoming clothing donations. Fill clothing orders for neighbors in need.  

INTAKE INTERVIEWER: Interview clients to determine their needs and eligibility for assistance. Computer skills required.  

INTAKE FILE MANAGER: Assist the Intake Manager, Intake Interviewers and Client Receptionist.

THRIFT STORE VOLUNTEER: Sort donations, price items for sale, serve as store cashier, stock and maintain store shelves/racks. 

Most volunteer shifts are four hours in either the morning or afternoon, once a week. However, we are flexible and are happy to discuss any specific needs you might have.
