Speed Plastics were involved in manufacturing a Smoke Hood for a customer and needed a transparent flexible adhesive to bond the mouthpiece to the hood and to plan a method of production. In this case study Techsil provided Speed Plastics Ltd with a flexible silicone adhesive from Momentive and in collaboration with dispensing specialists Nordson provided a fast, reliable, consistent dispensing solution.

Many plastics are difficult to bond due to their low surface energy one particular example are PEEK™ (Polyetheretherketone) thermoplastics.A new light curing adhesive called Vitralit® UV 4802 has been developed by manufacturers, Panacol, for the purpose of bonding high temperature resistant thermoplastics such as PEEK with other non-compatible materials.

Keeping Your Electronics as Cool as a Cucumber
Techsil supply Momentive's comprehensive range of innovative thermally conductive silicone adhesives (TIMs) that can conduct heat away from the PCB to the heat sink or used as potting to act as a temporary heat store allowing heat to dissipate over time. What are the advantages of using a Silicone TIM?

EFD fluid dispensers provide much greater control than the typical manual assembly processes. used for the precise application of adhesives, lubricants, solder pastes, 2-part epoxies, UV-cure adhesives, and other assembly fluids, Nordson's Performus™ and Ultimus™ ranges supply optimal results.
Nordson have released an updated Performus™ dispenser range: - Performus™ X. (X-100 0-100 psi high viscosity fluids, X15 0-15 psi low viscosity fluids).
The Ultimus™ range includes Ultimus™ IV & V which are suited to 2-part systems that thicken over time.
Ultimus™ IV features positive displacement - dispensing the required volume regardless of viscosity.
Ultimus™ V is a high precision system that can adjust pressure to suit the programmed viscosity curve for 2-part fluids.
