2024 Staff Retreat Highlights

photo of SFCHC staff at the staff retreat

Last week, we held our all-staff retreat, bringing together team members from all of our sites. With many new staff joining over the past year, the retreat provided an opportunity to share knowledge, experiences, and resources, while aligning with our strategic vision. Staff led engaging sessions that reinforced our understanding of our work, framed by San Francisco Community Health Center's four core convictions:

  1. Safety net for the safety net
  2. Whole-person approach
  3. Advocacy and policy
  4. Smart risks and innovation

The day also included fun activities to foster team spirit, and concluded with a very spirited round of family feud.

Learn more about our convictions

"I kept coming back to the question, ‘are we doing more harm?’ I couldn't shake the fact that the guests in our shelters, specifically people of color, trans folks, and folks who used drugs were not getting the care I knew they deserved."

SFCHC is also involved in efforts to address the fentanyl crisis through a pilot program providing street outreach and recovery services. We continue to advocate for LGBTQ+ health, homelessness services, and substance use recovery efforts in the city. Learn more on our website:

San Francisco Community Health Center celebrates and attends to the health and wellness of the communities that define San Francisco—immigrant and communities of color, queer, trans, unhoused people, and all of us who are most impacted by oppression—through comprehensive medical, dental, and mental health services. We believe that health care starts with healing justice and meeting the basic needs of our communities. Our culturally informed services are designed by the very people we serve.
