Looking for something different to do with your dog? How about a tricks class? Doing something as light-hearted and fun as teaching your dog tricks is a great way to enhance the bond you have with your dog. It can build your dog's confidence and is a great way to work off excess energy.

Some of the tricks you will work on in the AKC TRICK DOG CLASS include spin (in a circle), crawl, high five, kiss, shake and push-ups. Your dog will also have an opportunity to run thru an agility tunnel, jump thru a tire/hoop or over a low bar and master the teeter totter. Class starts Saturday, Sept. 7 at 3 PM. Stop your dog from pulling on walks

One of my favorite new FUN ways of teaching a dog to walk nicely next to you on leash is through pattern training. Leslie McDevitt developed the 1-2-3 pattern game as part of her Control Unleased training program.

Your dog learns that once you start counting, if he lines up next to you in heel position by the time you count to 3, he will be rewarded with a treat, You've got to see it to believe it! It works!

Leash Reactivity

Leash reactivity is usually on any list of “top 10 dog behavior issues.”

The Advanced Canine Good Citizen (CGCA) class builds on the skills you learned in the regular Canine Good Citizen (CGC) class but the skillset is a bit more difficult and done in public (real life!) This is the perfect class to fine-tune skills learned in basic and CGC class.
