A Message from the Cell Tower Committee

Hello, Firethorne Community!

Our community’s committee working to improve cellular service in our neighborhood has made significant progress in working with cellular network operators to improve service and expect some aspects of the plan to begin installation in 2024 (as confirmed by the Fort Bend County engineer)!

However, we want to keep the cellular network operators motivated to expediently address our cell service issues. If you wish to help our committee’s efforts, below is the link to registering a complaint with the FCC as well as some suggested language. In addition, you can also consider contacting our US Representative Nehls and Fort Bend County Commissioner Morales

FCC Complaint form:

https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=39744

The following are suggested entries for the fields of the form:

Phone Issue: Availability

Phone Availability Sub Issue: No Service Available

Your Phone Method: Wireless

Subject: Unavailable reliable cell service in my neighborhood

Description:

I am writing to request assistance regarding consistently poor cell phone service in my neighborhood. As a resident of the Firethorne neighborhood in Katy, Texas (GPS approximately 29.753680, -95.865985), I rely heavily on my cell phone for both personal, professional, and emergency communications. Unfortunately, the service quality has been severely inadequate for many years, causing significant inconvenience and frustration.

Despite numerous attempts to resolve the issue with my service provider, the problem persists. I frequently experience the inability to make calls, dropped calls, delayed text messages, and poor voice clarity, which disrupt my ability to stay connected reliably. This situation not only impacts my daily communications but also undermines the safety and security I expect from my mobile phone.

Reliable cell phone coverage is crucial in today's interconnected world, and the current service deficiencies in our area around my home are unacceptable. Many of my neighbors share similar concerns, as evidenced by discussions in our community forums and social media groups.

In light of these ongoing issues, I urge the FCC to investigate the root causes of the poor cell phone service in our neighborhood promptly. It is crucial that steps are taken to ensure that the cellular network operators and any other relevant parties address and resolve these issues swiftly. Additionally, I request that the FCC keep me informed about any actions or findings resulting from this complaint.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to a resolution that restores reliable cell phone service to our neighborhood.
