DCCA Homelessness Committee Issues Statement
DCCA's Committee on Homelessness recently worked with community leaders to organize an online information series about single people who are homeless and unhoused in the Dupont neighborhood.

At the conclusion of the series DCCA and the Homelessness Committee issued a statement which can be found here.
Garden Gratitude
Thanks to the team of 15+ neighbor volunteers that showed up on a recent Sunday morning to rake, week, dig and plant while enjoying the company of neighbors. It was great to see new and familiar faces, an ANC Commissioner and our small but mighty team member who is featured here doing his part to help our gardens grow!

The Mayor's April 26 Situational Update gives information on accine distribution include walk-up sites, and details on Phase 2 Reopening which begins on Saturday May 1.
DC DMV Announces Residential Parking Permit Fee Increase Effective June 1

The DC Department of Motor Vehicles (DC DMV) recently announced a new tiered structure for the residential parking permit (RPP) fee becomes effective June 1, 2021.

The annual fee for a one-year RPP sticker for the first vehicle registered at a legal mailing address will increase from $35 to $50, and additional fees will apply to other vehicles in that household.

Annie’s Nominated to DC Inventory of Historic Sites
DC Preservation League takes a look at the nomination of Annie's which has occupied two sites: it operated out of 1519 Seventeenth Street NW from 1948 until 1985, at which time it moved to 1609-1611 Seventeenth Street NW. Click here to read more about the history and the nomination.

The DC Historic Preservation Review Board (HPRB) has since held a hearing and designated the buildings a historic landmark and recommended that the nomination be forwarded to the National Register of Historic Places with Social History/LGBTQ as the Area of Significance and with 1948-1985 as the Period of Significance by a vote of 8-0.
Washington Elite List from 1896
A resident recently found and shared a book of old advertisements and addresses of the “elite residents of Washington” which includes lists of “receiving days” for some homes when visitors were preferred. This makes our DCCA House Tour hearts swoon!
