https://www.fox21news.com/.../green-mountain-falls-horse.../

A groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday, July 13, marked the start of construction for the Green Mountain Falls Horse Wellness Meadows. This innovative facility, located behind Joyland Church, aims to help performance horses recuperate and transition to new careers.

The project is a partnership between Elite Equine CO and Historic Green Mountain Falls Foundation, supported by a grant from the Kirkpatrick Family Fund. The facility will feature an eight-stall barn, fenced pastures, a round pen, and an atrium for gatherings and classes. It will accommodate up to five horses and a donkey.

Gina Hluska, President of Elite Equine CO, expressed excitement about the project's potential to help more performance horses. The facility will be managed by Elite Equine CO with a volunteer structure. For more information or volunteer opportunities, contact info.eliteequineGMF@gmail.com or call 719-428-0104.

Making Comebacks Bigger than Setbacks:

A Q&A Session with Elite Equine CO

by Sophie Coffey

You know about rehab facilities for horses who have injuries that need special protocols to heal. And you know about rescue facilities that allow horses in dire situations to have soft landings. Our story today is about an organization that combines the two in an extremely special way, providing rehabilitation services for horses who also need soft landings, as well as a normal rehabilitation service whose proceeds fund the non-profit side of things. For our latest blog, Liesl Ross sat down with Gina Hluska of Elite Equine Colorado to explain how it all works, and share some of their rehab & rescue stories. READ MORE

Help Save Remi: Young Quarter Horse Battling Bone Condition Needs Your Support

Remi, a 5-year-old quarter horse, recovered from a fractured coffin bone. The last six months Remi was training and proved to be a great roping horse prospect. Recently, Remi came up sore and now faces bone density loss. Instead of euthanasia, we're pursuing a 60-day intensive treatment plan including holistic therapies, specialized shoes, and supplements. This approach offers hope for Remi's recovery and future as a roping prospect.

Donation ask: Your donation can give Remi a fighting chance! We need $2,350 to cover two months of treatment and follow-up imaging. Every contribution, from $5 to $500, brings us closer to our goal. Please support Elite Equine Rescue in giving this talented young horse a second chance at life. Donate now and be part of Remi's comeback story! READ MORE and DONATE

PIMA Institute Students Gain Hands-On

Equine Experience at Elite Equine CO

Elite Equine CO recently hosted veterinary students from PIMA Institute for an immersive educational experience. The visit provided students with valuable hands-on training in essential equine veterinary skills.

During their time at Elite Equine CO, students practiced a range of critical procedures, including:

  • Administering injections
  • Giving oral medications
  • Drawing blood samples
  • Applying bandages
  • Taking radiographs
  • Proper equine restraint techniques

The event proved to be both educational for the students and enjoyable for the Elite Equine CO team. "We are honored to have the opportunity to help introduce and share this side of the equine industry with up-and-coming students," said Gina Hluska from Elite Equine CO. The success of the program has led to plans for additional training sessions. Aspiring veterinary professionals interested in similar opportunities are encouraged to visit PIMA Institute for more information on their educational programs.
