Austin, TX is among the fastest-growing regions in the US. It boasts a diverse, knowledge-based economy with high-quality K-16+ education. Much of this growth is happening in the northern suburbs of Austin, particularly in Round Rock and its surrounding areas. Join us to discover the similarities between these communities and North County San Diego. Explore their approach to economic and workforce development as suburban cities located in a larger metro area. This will be an opportunity to gain new insights into driving North County’s prosperity while also networking with other North County leaders.

The College of Business Administration at CSU San Marcos is proud to share information about our "Senior Experience" program and offer Vista Chamber of Commerce members a special 25% discount! Senior Experience is an experiential learning program that puts together teams of graduating college seniors with sponsoring clients to work on specific project objectives for the sponsor throughout a semester. Teams are closely supervised and supported by our faculty while they work on the project's deliverables. At the end of the project, the team presents their findings and recommendations to their sponsor and then later show off their project's outcomes to the business community at our Trade Show on campus. We have successfully completed a variety of business projects in the past, such as: 

  • Marketing: Planning, Customer Demographic Analysis, Ad Campaign Testing
  • Social Media: Planning, Campaign Execution, Content Calendar, A/B Testing
  • Markets: Go-To-Market Strategies, Competitor Analysis, Site Location Recommendations with ArcGIS, Economic Impact Reports
  • Information Systems: Artificial Intelligence Utilization Assessment (new this Fall), Website Refresh, Software Application Requirements Analysis, Mobile App Mockups, Information System Application Recommendations (ex. CRM, ERP)
  • Finance and Accounting: Business Plans, Budgeting, Pricing Analysis
  • Human Resources: Update Recruiting Practices, New Employee Onboarding Planning, Policies and Procedure Handbooks

Famous Amos begins national search to award three early-stage entrepreneurs with $150,000

Application Deadline: August 4, 2024 at 11:59pm PT

Famous Amos continues this initiative in honor of the brand’s founder, Wally Amos, to create pathways for Black business owners to thrive. At the close of this fourth program cycle, three grand-prize winners will be selected by a panel of renowned Black entrepreneurs including Steve Canal, Grant Warner, and Kendra Bracken-Ferguson to receive an award of $50,000 in capital business funds, wrap-around business resources and services, as well as publicity. There have been three previous program cycles since 2021, so far awarding $450,000 to a total of nine winners. See if you qualify and apply here.
