Bella and Sierra Find Their Forever Foster Home!
At Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue, we celebrate every adoption and every foster placement as a victory for our beloved animals. This month, we are thrilled to share the heartwarming story of Bella and Sierra, two senior dogs who have finally found a loving foster home.
Bella, an 11-year-old sweetheart, has a history with Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue. Adopted as a puppy in 2013, her life should have been filled with love and care. Unfortunately, Bella’s reality was far from that. She suffered abuse at the hands of her owners, resulting in severe injuries, including a luxating patella in both her knees. After enduring years of neglect and mistreatment, Bella was abandoned on the streets and eventually returned to us. Understandably, Bella’s trust in humans was shattered. Sierra, a gentle 10-year-old soul, has her own story of resilience. She was found as a stray in Miami when she was young and came to our rescue in 2019. Despite her arthritis, which limits her activity, Sierra’s love for affection knows no bounds. She revels in being petted, especially when it comes to hip scratches or massages.
Years went by as Bella and Sierra waited at our rescue, their hopes of finding a loving home slowly fading. Their eyes, once filled with hope, became accustomed to the routine of rescue life. Despite the love and care they received from our team, it was evident that they longed for a home where they could truly belong.
Over the years, Bella and Sierra bonded at our rescue, providing each other with companionship and comfort. Their unique friendship was heartwarming, but what they truly needed was a loving home. Enter Stacey, a former vet tech and groomer who now works at a rehabilitation center for addicts. Stacey’s background and compassion made her the perfect foster parent for Bella and Sierra.
“They are complete lovebirds,” Stacey shares, describing the deep bond between the two dogs. Stacey’s home is now filled with the love and joy that Bella and Sierra bring, and the two dogs are thriving under her care. For the first time in years, Bella and Sierra have a backyard to play in and cozy beds to sleep on. They have found a haven where they can feel safe, loved, and cherished.
Fostering is a crucial part of animal rescue. It provides a temporary, loving environment for animals who are waiting for their forever homes. Fostering not only saves lives but also helps animals like Bella and Sierra heal from their past traumas. By opening your heart and home to a foster pet, you provide them with the love and care they desperately need, making a profound impact on their lives.
At Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue, we are always in need of compassionate foster families. If Bella and Sierra’s story has touched your heart, consider becoming a foster parent. Your kindness can change the life of an animal in need and bring immeasurable joy to your home.
