Mesoamerica Region
The Mesoamerica Region is comprised of many mainland and island nations, speaking Spanish, English, Dutch, and French, as well as Creole, which is spoken in Haiti. The Church of the Nazarene established work in countries like Cuba and Mexico (1902 and 1903 respectively) as the earliest missions fields across the region. New works have continued to emerge from the early 1930s, throughout the 1970’s, and to the present. It is a tapestry of diverse and beautiful traditions and people groups. There is a passionate desire to see the Church of the Nazarene and the message of Scriptural Holiness grow and thrive here. The story that follows exemplifies the creative and energetic ways used to impact the people groups of Mesoamerica for Christ.

NYI - Young Adult Ministry
After high school, people take on many different paths as they go through life and into their careers, but they often come across some of the same challenges. The YAM ministry is being formed to unite our “young” adults (high school graduates to early 30’s) in an environment where there can be great discussion regarding the many facets of life. The primary focus of the group is to grow together, through fellowship, in the Word of God.
Reagan Smith
Y.A.M. Director
Reagan Smith is the Young Adult Ministry Director for NWIL District. We would like to hear your ideas for events, gatherings, subjects you would like to talk about, hearts desire for this new ministry, etc.

Second Mile Award
The Second Mile Award recognizes those who show an exceptional spirit of faithful service in the pursuit of the mission “To make Christlike disciples in the nations.”
Presented through Nazarene Discipleship International (NDI), it is intended for anyone deserving of recognition for going the second mile – including Sunday School teachers and small group leaders, presidents, other laity, pastors, and district leaders. Some recipients have been publicly visible, while others have quietly worked behind the scenes, impacting lives for Christ
Jesus encourages His followers to offer themselves beyond what is required, to do more than is expected, because “it is the Lord Christ you are serving” (Colossians 3:24, NIV).
This exemplary award will be a treasured keepsake for the recipient who has demonstrated the qualities exhibited by second milers: perseverance, commitment, and compassion.
Available Awards:
- Trophy and Certificate (8” X 6”) in a black, debossed holder ($200)
- Certificate Only (8” X 6”) only in a black, debossed holder ($125)
Proceeds are used for resourcing discipleship endeavors around the world. Ordering information can be found: https://nazarene.org/resources/second-mile-award
