2024-2025 PRACTICUM PLACEMENTS | The Aging and Health Certificate program places enrolled students with organizations that expose them to meaningful hands-on social work practice on aging. We are grateful to the many outstanding organizations that host our certificate students each year! |
This year, we have 19 students in the certificate program, and they are completing their practicum across 17 organizations in New Jersey and across the US. The certificate program is open to MSW students in both the clinical and management and policy (MAP) concentrations. | |

NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM INVITED PANELIST
Dr. Emily Greenfield, Professor and Director of the Rutgers School of Social Work Hub for Aging Collaboration, will speak as an invited panelist at the National Symposium on Healthy Aging, organized by the The Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion and Trust for America’s Health, on Thursday, Sept. 26. This symposium will explore how cross-sector leaders in aging and public health have innovated to address common challenges in the area of older adult health and well-being. WELCOME DEAN LEIBOWITZ
Dr. George Leibowitz was appointed dean of the Rutgers School of Social Work on July 1, 2024. Coming from Stony Book University's School of Social Work, Dean Leibowitz is an interdisciplinary researcher and licensed clinician specializing in adult and adolescent mental health and substance abuse treatment, as well as an expert on opioid addiction. His expertise also includes forensic social work, behavioral health and primary care services, with a focus on social determinants and health disparities. Read the Dean's welcome message.

The Rutgers School of Social Work (SSW) has an open-rank, tenure-track faculty position with a focus on aging, neurocognition, and health equity. Applicants with practice experience working with individuals and families living with neurodegenerative conditions are preferred. The faculty member will be part of the Rutgers Hub for Aging Collaboration and will have additional opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration through the AHEAD University Presidential Diversity Hiring Initiative. | |
