Creation Care Enablers

a service devoted to earth and spirit

Good environmental stewardship has a significant overlap with good economic stewardship. We are divinely created to depend on God's creation for our material existence. For the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, and the raw materials we use for everything else.

Creation includes the natural environment, the built environment (our houses, cities, and economies) and all the creatures that depend on those environments. We have been charged with safeguarding the fruitfulness and productivity of creation for all its inhabitants, including people - enabling creation to flourish at its very best.

In celebrating Earth Day, our service will celebrate the spirit of the earth and those Creation Care Enablers who understand this charge.

This Week-end

 Friday, April 26 - Sunday, April 28

The Building Fund Raising Committee plans to raise some money by selling parking spaces during Spartanburg’s Spring Fling. We will use Central’s parking lot and the lot across Church Street. We need volunteers on Friday evening, April 26th, all day Saturday, April 27th, and after church on Sunday, April 28th. Each shift will be 3 to 4 hours and about 40 volunteers are needed to cover the necessary times.

If you are willing to help with this project, please call the church office (582-7263) and leave a message or send an email to: Gina Hamer.

 Upstate Friends Meetings

All worship services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sundays and the Zoom connection is:  https://us02web.zoom.us/j/7045994999?pwd=L3VIdXZHNFZxVUNJSjhxa0dtUDlidz09

The Quakers meet in person on the first Sunday of each month in Central's Fellowship Hall.

The next in-person meeting is May 5, 2024

A social break follows the service with snacks.

Ways to Give to Central

We continue to be deeply grateful for continued support of the mission and ministry of Central Church. There are a few ways to continue to make offerings extremely easy.

  1. The US mail always works. We are at 233 North Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306.
  2. Contact the Financial Secretary to set up a recurring gift through an automatic bank draft.
  3. VANCO Mobile
  4. On the homepage on the church's website there is a "Give" link. Once you set up that app any additional gifts are as easy as one or two clicks.
