Everything Evergreen

First and foremost, our website is under construction! The new site should be available in the coming weeks, but until then if you have questions feel free to reach out by phone or email.

Aside from that, a lot has happened on-site in the past month! We had...

  • 2 weeks of Summer Camp
  • 5 on-site Events
  • 1 Field Trip
  • 1 Career Camp

Greetings Janice,

Happy Belated Independence Day from everyone here at Evergreen Heritage Center! Summer is certainly upon us, even here in the mountains of Western Maryland.

The extreme heat has been brutal for us, but did you know our native plants have adapted to beating those high temperatures? That's right! Our natives can withstand so much more than their nonnative counterparts. Order natives today!

This month, we've been having Young Naturalist Camp and we'll have our Surviving the Settlement of Evergreen Camp, and our Gateway to Evergreen Open House on July 21st!

You don't want to these great opportunities!

Campers joined Ms. Maggie, our Art Director, for a wonderful week learning about traditional paper making methods and processes!

Thank you to Colin Vogtman who completed his Eagle Scout Project here at Evergreen! Colin and his troop worked hard to build the Imagination Woods portion of our new Forest Garden!

Campers enjoyed a week outdoors at Rising Rangers Camp and at the end of the week to celebrate, they released butterflies!

High School students from all over the ti-state area joined us for Forestry 101, a two-week Career Camp, which was in partnership with Reynwood Forest Management & the Maryland Forest Service.
