UWHC and Coastal Carolina University Team Up for the 21st Annual Caring for Kindergartners!

Proudly hosted by United Way of Horry County with Horry County Schools, CCU student-athletes read "A Big Guy Took My Ball" by Mo Willems to kindergarteners in 17 elementary schools. Chauncey and several members of the CCU Dance Team visited St James Elementary School.

It also happened to be Read Across America Week and the perfect opportunity to highlight the importance of childhood literacy! Together, we're fostering a love for reading in our community.

The Basics Waccamaw Launch

at EdVenture Myrtle Beach

While you've likely already heard or seen Richard talking about The Basics Waccamaw, we officially launched the program during an event held at EdVenture Myrtle Beach with support from many businesses and organizations representing diverse sectors.

This event has sparked the beginning of many collaborations that will continue to help us provide educational resources and opportunities to our children and families in Horry County to improve kindergarten readiness rates.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us. Together, we're significantly impacting our children's and our community's future.

Thank you to EdVenture for hosting the event and Buttercream Cakes & Catering.
