Starting Monday, April 1st, CHFA will begin accepting applications for Direct Effect Awards. CHFA will administer two rounds of Direct Effect Awards in 2024, and the application period for Round One will close April 26th. Awardees will be notified in late July 2024.
Direct Effect Awards provide funding to Colorado nonprofit organizations whose missions align with CHFA’s work to strengthen Colorado by investing in affordable housing and community development. Awards typically range from $5,000 to $30,000. In 2024, in celebration of CHFA’s 50th anniversary, up to five $50,000 Direct Effect Awards will be offered in each round. Applications are currently being accepted for the Equity program established by Proposition 123. The application submission period opened March 18, 2024, will end April 18, 2024, at 5:00pm MT.
The Equity program provides below-market-rate equity investments to eligible for-profit and nonprofit entities for the construction or preservation of low- and middle-income multifamily rental developments. A Tenant Equity Vehicle (TEV), funded through program earnings, will be required for developments receiving Equity financing.

CHFA's 2023 Community Report is now available online. In the report, learn how CHFA invested $2.7 billion to support affordable housing and community development in 2023. Highlights include how CHFA increased community engagement, strengthened programs, and surpassed several organizational records. The report is online at chfainfo.com/CR23.
Beneficiary Reports are also available as a part of the online report. Each of these reports includes data and insights about the people and organizations that CHFA has the privilege of serving.

congratulations, 2024 eagle awards nominees | CHFA congratulates the nominees for the 2024 Housing Colorado Eagle Awards, which recognize excellence in the affordable housing industry in Colorado. This year’s nominees include the Rent Reporting for Credit Pilot Program administered by CHFA, and many affordable housing developments CHFA has been pleased to support. This year’s Eagle Awards ceremony will be held on the evening of Thursday, May 30th, in Denver. More details including the full list of nominees are available via the link below. | |
