MSA Welcomes Manufacturing and Meat Cutting Industries

The Motor Safety Association (MSA) is thrilled to announce the addition of the Manufacturing and Meat Cutting industries to our association. This expansion marks a new chapter in our ongoing mission to promote workplace safety across Saskatchewan, providing even greater value and sustainability for our entire membership.

Gordon Gibson, MSA's Board President, shared his enthusiasm for this new partnership:

"It is with great pleasure that MSA has the privilege to welcome the Manufacturers and Meat Cutters to its association. This has been no small task and the Executive Director is to be commended on his diligence and hard work. This is an exciting time for MSA. With new growth comes change and positive change is always welcome. I just wanted to say thank you to the Board and those that put in extra effort in seeing this come to its fruition and give a heartfelt welcome to the Manufacturers and Meat Cutters."

Murray Yeager, Vice President of Brandt Manufacturing, represented the Manufacturers and Meat Cutting industries on this initiative echoed this sentiment:

"When the Manufacturers and Meat Cutters rate code members found themselves without a safety training association, we did an extensive search for a new safety association that could meet our needs. MSA was the clear leader with their top-notch organization and training style. They clearly understood Saskatchewan and the unique needs created by the many SK companies spread throughout the entire province. We are proud to be members of MSA and look forward to many years with MSA and our sister companies in Saskatchewan. Thank you to Ryan and all the members of MSA for bringing us into your organization. Stay Safe Everyone."

Phil Germain, CEO of WCB Saskatchewan, added these encouraging words:

"It takes strong leadership to improve safety performance and the WCB commends the leadership demonstrated by the manufacturing employers and the Motor Safety Association. We applaud your continued focus on supporting employers and workers in the manufacturing sector to drive forward workplace health and safety initiatives. Your leadership and support are critical as together we prevent injuries and ultimately save lives while moving toward making Saskatchewan the safest place to work in Canada."

Reflecting on this milestone, Ryan J. Bast, MSA's Executive Director, expressed his gratitude and vision for the future:

"Growing up on a farm and working at a farm dealership and manufacturing facility, I developed a deep appreciation for the importance of safety in these industries. Twenty years ago, I began my formal journey in workplace safety with a practicum placement at a manufacturing facility under the guidance of PIMA, the Prairie Implement Manufacturers Association. I was incredibly fortunate to receive mentorship from this remarkable group. Their dedication to safety and their willingness to share their extensive knowledge laid a strong foundation for my career.

Fast forward to today, and it is a true honor for all of us at MSA - both past and present staff and board members - to welcome the Manufacturer and Meat Cutter industries of Saskatchewan as official members of our organization. This milestone is a testament to the hard work of so many individuals over the years. It reflects our shared vision and the continuous efforts to promote the safety and well-being of our members. We are excited about the future and look forward to the positive impact this expanded membership will have for our members."

With the addition of the Manufacturing and Meat Cutting industries, MSA is committed to delivering even better value to our membership.

This includes the introduction of new programs tailored to support the diverse needs of the industries we serve. Our goal is to enhance member value, ensuring that all our members benefit from the best safety training, resources, and support available. This expansion is not only great for our membership but also reinforces the sustainability of MSA.
