From Our Minister of Music

Dear Parish family,

I am very much looking forward to spending Holy Week with you! Singing and worshipping with you all during this precious time of year is always a great blessing to me.

Some of the musical moments I'm looking forward to this week are a postlude by Bach on the tune of "All Glory, Laud, and Honor" on Palm Sunday, a choral anthem by Amy Beach on Maundy Thursday, and two different settings of "O filii et filiae" (O Sons and Daughters) on Easter Sunday!

Though there will be seasonal music at each of our Holy Week services (including a prelude and postlude at the Good Friday service) I hope you will especially try to join us for Maundy Thursday and Easter Sunday to support our hard-working choir and hear the encouraging anthems they’ve been preparing.

Soli Deo gloria,

N.B. Bible Study will be on hiatus until April 4.

Thank You, Rev. SuEllen Pommier

The Rev. SuEllen Pommier, formerly our deacon, presided at Ascension on March 10 for the first time as an ordained priest. Rod and SuEllen generously hosted a reception following the service to celebrate her ordination with our parish family and to express her thanks for the support of the parish in her journey.

SuEllen is currently serving as a curate at St. Michael & All Angels in Portland. We are so grateful she could lead us in worship and we hope she will be with us again as her schedule allows.

Thank you, Rev. SuEllen!

The Collect for Palm Sunday: March 24, 2024

Almighty and everliving God, in your tender love for the human race you sent your Son our Savior Jesus Christ to take upon him our nature, and to suffer death upon the cross, giving us the example of his great humility: Mercifully grant that we may walk in the way of his suffering, and also share in his resurrection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
