CareerHub Summer Youth Employment Fair - Register Today

Calling all young adults looking to make the most of their summer! The CareerHub is now accepting applications for the 2024 Connecticut Youth Employment Summer Program.
Join us for an informative and interactive event on April 17th from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm at Housatonic Community College Room L108. Parents and young adults will have the opportunity to apply for the program, ask questions of staff, meet employers, and explore career opportunities with virtual reality.
The CareerHub summer program is open to young adults (ages 14-24) residing in any of the 20 towns served by The WorkPlace. Participants will be given the opportunity to earn wages during the summer, hone workforce skills, and receive valuable training and work experience. Young Adults will have access to various occupational sectors to enhance their current strengths and abilities.

Community Health Worker Upskilling

The Health Career Academy is offering a series of no-cost professional development workshops designed specifically for Community Health Workers (CHWs) and those in Health Support Worker roles. The academy offers ten workshops that are 1-2 hours, available in both morning and evening slots to accommodate busy schedules.
These workshops go beyond the basics, equipping participants with the knowledge and resources they need to truly excel. Upskilling empowers CHWs to deliver more effective care, improve health outcomes in underserved communities, and adapt to the ever-changing healthcare landscape. Launch Your Clean Energy Career with EnergyWorks
|

EnergyWorks is a training program for careers within renewable energy and utilities. Funded through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, EnergyWorks aims to provide a pipeline of skilled workers for Connecticut’s growing renewable energy sector.
Developed in collaboration with industry experts and employers, EnergyWorks will offer comprehensive training tailored to meet the demands of the renewable energy sector. Through a blend of classroom instruction, hands-on exercises, and virtual reality simulations, participants will gain practice experience and industry-recognized credentials. Training will lead to career opportunities within solar power, energy efficiency, and utilities.
EnergyWorks will serve individuals aged 17 and above in the Bridgeport and New Haven areas. The program prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring the unemployed, underemployed, justice-impacted, young adults, and people with disabilities, have access to opportunities in the quickly growing field of renewable energy.
