Dancing Colors of Spring

The Daffodils

By Williams Wadsworth

I wandered lonely as a cloud

That floats on high o’er vales and hills,

When all at once I saw a crowd,

A host of golden daffodils;

Beside the lake, beneath the trees,

Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine

and twinkle on the Milky Way,

They stretched in never-ending line

along the margin of a bay:

Ten thousand saw I at a glance,

tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they

Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:

A poet could not but be gay,

in such a jocund company:

I gazed—and gazed—but little thought

what wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie

In vacant or in pensive mood,

They flash upon that inward eye

Which is the bliss of solitude;

And then my heart with pleasure fills,

And dances with the daffodils.

Dying To Talk

Dying to Talk …Conscious Conversations Talking about death won't kill you! This event is FREE and will be held on Wednesday, April 24 · 6:30 - 8:30 pm at the Mount Forest United Church, 175 Queen Street East Mount Forest. Death is something we all have in common but are afraid to talk about. Are your values and wishes known? Let's start the conversation. Think Death Cafe with a Twist. Dying to Talk is a gathering where people join together to share in conscious conversations around issues surrounding life, death and all the messy in-betweens. We intend to increase awareness of living our best lives and making the most of the time we have left. While not a bereavement or support group, Dying to Talk provides an opportunity to respectfully discuss death as a natural part of our lives. This event is hosted by RoseAnne Desmarais. RoseAnne is an End-of-Life Doula, Private Palliative PSW and Certified Grief Educator / Companion. All participants can pre-register at eventbrite.ca or by calling RoseAnne Desmarais at (226) 820.4945

Art in the Christian Tradition

An invitation to share your faith and how you are called to serve in art form

Saturday, June 8

Mount Forest United Church

1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Art can be a catalyst for community engagement and also can demonstrate how we serve God. We are also drawn closer to God through art.  Art takes many forms. If you have ever visited Woodland, you will see the beautiful banners displayed in the sanctuary and created by Linda Harris. You might be a photographer with a collage of photos that depict your involvement with our refugee families. Perhaps you are a quilter, a woodworker, or a stained glass artist.

Start thinking about what you might like to display – and get creative!

The event will be open to the public and will include a strawberry tea.

The event is being coordinated by Patty Sinnamon. Patty is seeking helpers to coordinate the Art Show and helpers for the strawberry tea. For more information please contact Patty at psinnamon61@gmail.com.
