We hope everyone had as eventful and productive a month as we did! In addition to holding our first Rock Fest event since COVID and conducting our Annual Company Meeting, we are happy to say that our build out plans for the new location are now in the hands of a general contractor and soon to be submitted to the City of Austin! Please send positive vibrations our way to encourage a smooth, expedited permitting phase!
As we grow closer to our big move, we are learning to let go of our current space one step at a time. As a final hurrah for our first ever Event Center, we have invited back all of the charter members of the Practitioner Program for The Return of the Originals. Join us to honor these amazing beings and receive some insights TODAY (8/31)!!! After this event, only our new Event Center at 11055 N Interstate 35, ATX 78753 will be available to rent for private events.
The last Trunk Show in our 4103 Auditorium will take place September 28th through October 6th. This will be the 19th Annual Fall Trunk Show featuring all new products never available to the public from the International Gem & Jewelry Show in Denver, Colorado. This is our second biggest inventory showcase of the year, but was also the first international show that we ever shopped and was the first time we ever brought a truckload back to Austin to share with our local community from our East 5th Street location. It's fitting that the Denver Truck Show (as it used to be called because of the truckload(s) we would bring back) was our first ever major event and now it will be the last major event in our current location.
Some highlights in this newsletter include:
- Learn about the upcoming eclipses and how they might impact you with astrological updates
- Adopt a Pet Rock and see who won our Scavenger Hunt prizes from our Rock Fest '24 event
- Our Natural Grocers partner’s first instructional session this month will be addressing GMO foods
- Learn about Peridot and how it can be a Foundation Stone in your life
- Get 20% off in-store during the Labor Day Weekend and check out the Pop-Up Store in our New Event Center
Although many of us are still dealing with what we call the Retro-Shade, a period of about 2 weeks before and after the Mercury retrograde event that ended on 8/27, we hope that most have gotten the wheels turning again. Be sure to rest up this Labor Day Weekend so that you can be fully charged for what will surely be a highly productive month!

Please everyone, continue to stay safe and healthy.
Blessings,
Karen and the Staff

The Twelve Foundation Stones
of the Heavenly City: Peridot
| |
by: Adrienne Goff
“O afflicted one, storm-tossed, and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in antimony, and lay your foundations with sapphires. I will make your pinnacles of agate, your gates of carbuncles, and all your wall of precious stones" (Isaiah 54:11–12 RSV).
Did you know that the Bible is full of references to crystals and gemstones? This is just one of over a hundred Bible verses that mention precious stones. In this verse, the Prophet Isaiah is using the metaphor of gemstones to convey the strength, prosperity, and protection that God provides those who have faith in him. Perhaps the most interesting and well-known verse about gemstones can be found in the Book of Revelation.

A Partnership Between Nature’s Treasures and Natural Grocers
Monthly Astrological Guidance by Julie Reeves
Astrology Overview for September
September is one of the busiest months of 2024! With all this energy circling, plus the Eclipses, September will likely be a highly transformative month. How we begin the month is likely not how we end it!
The Eclipses will most likely dominate the planetary energies. We can feel Eclipses up to a month before they arrive and for a month after. We have one Eclipse this month, a Pisces Lunar Eclipse on the 17th, and the Solar Eclipse will be on October 2nd, so it’s safe to say that both September and October will carry a very similar energy. We may even have to wait until the end of October to truly recognize the transformation that has taken place.
In the first part of the month, we will be supported by the earthy energy of Virgo, guiding us to focus on our health and to build up our inner resources. This is the perfect way to lean into this energy, so try your best to build up your inner world and focus on creating inner strength. Adopt some healthy habits, protect your energy field, be firm in your boundaries, and treat your body as a temple.

Featured Fossil: Megalodon Teeth
For all those “Mega” fossil enthusiasts out there, have we got a treasure for you. The Megalodon, meaning “giant tooth” is related to the present day shark, however this variety went extinct nearly 3.6 million years ago. This species was nearly 58 feet long, with a mouth measuring 10 feet wide, making them the largest fish that ever existed. Wearing and/or carrying a shark tooth was thought to bring protection to oneself as well as allowing for an opportunity to align with the water element.
Some even believe if you find a shark tooth, you could have good luck for life. Whether it’s luck you seek or adding an amazing fossil to your collection, a Megalodon tooth is quite the “Mega” catch!

Featured Agate: Dry Head Agate
Dryhead agate is found in Montana, near the Pryor Mountain range at the Dryhead creek. The Bighorn Basin is a large structural sedimentary basin that dates to the Cambrian and Neogene periods. It has since been reformed due to uplift activity and compression stresses. This is the environment in which the Dryhead agate formed! Bringing this into modern time, mining in the area closed to the public in the 1980's but rough material is available. The colorful banding typically mixes with the purple matrix and creates a unique and fairly easily distinguishable agate. Orange, lavender, red, yellow agate bands combined with the interplay of purple matrix make for fancy, unique cabochons, and with a hardness of 7 this mineral takes a nice polish. We have rough, face polished pieces and cabochons available at the store!

Christine
While studying at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia, Christine traveled to Austin, Texas with her class for a design project which inspired her to move out to our weird city after graduation. She finds joy in befriending stray animals, making people laugh, and creating magic with art, design, and computers. You might see her covering our in-store events for social media or peeking out from the corner of the Online Store - but most likely feeding a stray cat.

We're Moving to 11055 N IH35 Frontage Rd! |
Nature's Treasures is a beloved longtime Austin business putting the weird in "Keep Austin Weird." With more than 14,000 square feet of space along I-35 near Airport Boulevard, it's one of the largest crystal shops in the country.
"Us being deemed [a] culturally significant space in Austin, we're getting a little bit of additional funding in terms of settling into the new space," Kallstrom said.
