Cheryl Ann Thibault of Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce Completes 2nd Year at Institute for Organization Management

A Leadership Training Program Produced by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Institute for Organization Management, the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, is pleased to announce that Cheryl Thibault, President/CEO, of the Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce, has recently completed her second year at Institute for Organization Management, a four-year nonprofit leadership training program at University of Georgia in Athens.

“Institute graduates are recognized across the country as leaders in their industries and organizations,” said Raymond P. Towle, IOM, CAE, the U.S. Chamber’s vice president of Institute for Organization Management. “These individuals have the knowledge, skills, and dedication necessary to achieve professional and organizational success in the dynamic association and chamber industries.”

Since its commencement in 1921, the Institute program has been educating tens of thousands of association, chamber, and other nonprofit leaders on how to build stronger organizations, better serve their members and become strong business advocates. Institute’s curriculum consists of four weeklong sessions at four different university locations throughout the country. Through a combination of required courses and electives in areas such as leadership, advocacy, marketing, finance, and membership, Institute participants are able to enhance their own organizational management skills and add new fuel to their organizations, making them run more efficiently and effectively.

Institute for Organization Management is the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. It is the premier nonprofit professional development program for association and chamber professionals, fostering individual growth through interactive learning and networking opportunities.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business organization representing companies of all sizes across every sector of the economy. Our members range from the small businesses and local chambers of commerce that line the Main Streets of America to leading industry associations and large corporations.

Welcome our New Membership Director

Jennifer Elkins

I have lived in the Sebastian area for over 14 years.  I am an alumnus of SWRHS Shoreham, New York. I was a student at FIT in New York and UNLV, finishing my schooling at JSRCC in Virginia. I got my certificate as a pharmacy technician with a chemo compounding study. In addition to working many extra hours for over 10 years helping my family's investment business in real estate by renovating many historic homes in Virginia. I am also a licensed Realtor here in Florida.

I am very excited to be the new Membership Director here at SRACC and am looking forward to serving this community and all its business members. I have had the pleasure of already being a member of the chamber and enjoyed the experience. I can attest that networking works! Working with the team at the Pelican Visitor Center has been so rewarding. It’s truly a team.

On a personal note, I love the beaches, parks, and activities around town. There is nothing better than meeting friends out for dinner on the water. Sports, travel, and of course, fishing, are important tools for relaxation. My dream is to finish setting up my non-profit organization" Kennedy's Kids." It will one day help parents/caregivers of children in Hospice who need help with funding and guidance to complete everyday needs.
