SCATTERED TO SERVE.jpg

On Saturday, April 13, we will devote a handful of hours to service projects scattered all over Wake County. What will we be doing? Mulching. Gardening. Home-building. Office-organizing. Cooking. Baking. Playing games. Speaking Spanish. Eating snacks with older folks and just shooting the breeze. Making deeper connections with the people of this church and the people of this community.

This is an amazing chance to serve others and grow deeper in our faith. Every little effort we make will help our neighbors get one step closer to affording a place to live. Won't you join us? Click here to sign up. Any questions, email Dir. of Outreach Lindsey Nugent at lnugent@hbumc.org. Can't wait to see you April 13!

Storytelling Sunday School hour

Our Scattered to Serve projects have something for every age level and every mobility. However, if you still feel you can't participate, then join us vicariously: On Sunday, April 14 we'll be sharing stories of what surprised us during Scattered to Serve...what we learned...and how God showed up in new ways. Come to Casper Holroyd Hall at 10 a.m. as we tell stories and give thanks. Open to all!

grief workshop at ESUMC May 2024.jpg

How do we integrate deep losses into our bigger story? into God’s bigger story? Grief and loss are the “stuff of life,” especially in these post-pandemic and chaotic days. In this workshop, Khris Ford, Co-Director of the NC Institute for Spiritual Direction, will present a framework for understanding the process of grief, as well as the basics of trauma. We will talk about how to integrate spirituality and faith in a grief- and trauma-sensitive way. Email Khris here to sign up.
