July 5, 2024

This Sunday, we'll continue our Summer Baggage series and take a look at the dangers of pride and the importance of humility. By recognizing our dependence on God, we can cultivate a humble heart and serve others selflessly. We will explore biblical examples and teachings on humility, helping us to follow Christ's example.

Pastor Trevor Miller will be preaching in the Auditorium for the Contemporary Worship services; Pastor Michael Turner will be preaching in the Sanctuary for the Traditional Worship services.

For those worshiping remotely, you're invited to watch our services online, on Facebook and YouTube.

Membership Class

Whether you are seeking information about the church or ready to join, you are invited to attend our Membership Class on July 14 from 3 PM - 5 PM in Room 820. Those who wish to join the church will have that opportunity at the end of the class, and those not ready yet can return to a future class for additional information and/or join. You can register at mthorebchurch.org/membership or through our Mt. Horeb app.

Baptism Class

Our Children's Baptism Class will be held Sunday, July 14 at 5 PM in Room 820. Once you attend this class, you can choose from one of our scheduled dates for in-service baptism. Email baptism@mthorebchurch.org with any questions.

Senior Adult Lunch

Our next Senior Adult Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, July 16 at 11:30 AM in the Student Room. Our entertainment will feature Todd Parrott playing gospel music on the harmonica. The cost of the catered lunch is $15 per person and registration is required by Thursday, July 11 at mthorebchurch.org/senioradults.

Kids Worship Camp

Join us for four jam-packed mornings from 9 AM to 12 PM of worship through the creative arts! Registration is open to rising 2nd through 6th grades who would like to learn more about the various aspects of worship and music instruction. There will be group singing and smaller group workshops. Parents and loved ones, join us for a brief program on Thursday at 12 PM when you pick up your kiddos! They will be presenting a few of the songs they have learned and we will do some snapshot demonstrations of some of the music concepts as well. We have a few spots left. Register here.

Worship Workshops

The Contemporary Worship Team is hosting Worship Workshops for rising 6th - 12th grade students interested in learning more about worship music, live production, and pastoral ministry. This is a great opportunity to learn more about one of these areas and a great way to develop and define skills. If you are a beginner, this is also an opportunity to be exposed to how these ministries work together to serve in a worship service setting. In the Pastoral Ministry track you can learn more about speaking and Bible Study methods. There are many worship tracks that you can choose from: Drums, Bass, Keys, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, and Vocals. Our Production track will focus on audio, lighting, and live video production as these areas work together to support worship services. Worship Workshops will be July 29-31 from 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM. The deadline to sign up is July 21. Register here.
