Teaching to Transgress: Education as the Practice of Freedom

Student Celebrations Community News

Dear Hallett Families,

We are so proud of our students from week to week for all of the hard work they put into their talents and learning.

Today's newsletter is a special edition message of many different student celebrations. As you continue to scroll you'll see all sorts of shoutouts to our students. These highlights include student performances, honor roll, 95%+ attendance, and reading/math proficiency.

We are so grateful to have the opportunity to lead your children through their educational journey and watch them grow over the years. Please continue reading this newsletter to celebrate all of Hallett students!

Thank you,

Charmaine V. Keeton

Interim Hallett Principal

We want to give a huge shoutout to our students who performed at Black Music Matter at the King Center. You all did such a wonderful job and we enjoyed your performance! Additionally, we wanted to add a special thank you to Ms. Whitney for supporting our students the day of their performances.

Some of our outstanding Hallett students had the opportunity to perform with Hazel Miller at the All Together Now Festival a few weeks ago and did an amazing job! Above our students who participated in this performance are listed.

We are recognizing our students who have achieved 95% attendance and above! This attendance period was from January 3rd to March 13th. Students listed have attended school between those dates a total of at least 46 days. These students will join us on our Lava Island field trip coming up.

Join us in celebrating our listed Hallett Honor Roll students! These students were listed as proficient in both reading and math on their most recent progress reports. Congrats Honor Roll students!

All students listed above are our Hallett Math Scholars. Each student received a $10 gift card to Walmart, Chick-Fil-A or McDonald's! Keep up the hard work on your math skills, Hallett!

Our Hallett Reading Scholars are students who are proficient in reading at their grade level! Each student received a $10 gift card to Walmart, Chick-Fil-A or McDonald's! Great job reading, Hallett Hawks. Keep up the hard work!

Wish for Wheels

We're so excited to announce that we have been chosen again this year for the 'Build a Bike', and bike donation day!

the past three years, our 2nd graders have been selected by the non-profit Wish for Wheels, where all of our 2nd grade students receive a brand new bicycle and helmet.

The bikes come in boxes and are assembled here at school by volunteers. The volunteers then support the students in riding in the south field after assembly.

We will continue to keep our community updated as we work to set a date for this event.
