Hunter's Creek Middle School Community Brief Saturday, June 29, 2024
Dear Mark,
I hope that you are enjoying a safe and restful summer break.
With the end of the month of June now here, summer school has ended as well. Our Eagles have been engaged in active summer camp activities that interest them and captivate their attention, accelerated math, and literacy activities. Everyone has been having lots of fun learning new concepts and doing hands-on activities.
Our Eagles’ teachers have been very busy attending professional development training sessions, preparing effective and engaging lessons during their common planning days as well as getting ready for the new school year to start in August.
| |
As in past summers, schools are closed the week of the Independence Day holiday.
Report cards will be issued on July 11. You can contact the school to provide you with a copy of the grades or use the Skyward Family Access to view your students’ grades.
In order to give our Eagle parents a head start, included below is very important information for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Keep enjoying your summer and please remember to visit our website and the OCPS website this summer for the latest news updates.
With all my best!
Joumana Moukaddam

Exciting news for one of our outgoing 8th graders! Mr. Gomez assisted Anani Alaya get accepted into her first professional Art Show! The theme is “Pintura Groove- A Celebration of Graffiti and Urban Art," and her artwork is a portrait of late rap artist MF Doom and was created in class. Mr. Gomez knew it would be a great fit for the show so then after several phone calls with the curator, Mr. Gomez shared that “our youth have a place in the art world too,” her piece was accepted!

7th Grade Immunization Requirements
All incoming 7th grade students must have their Tdap vaccine. Once your student’s immunization is up to date, please share your proof of immunization with our registrar.
There is a new system for registering for a school bus. To register, you will need to go onto Skyward and complete the School Bus Rider Registration form that has been added to the Skyward forms module.
In the past, the District encouraged parents to transport their non-eligible bus rider, if they could, to afford a seat for a student who needs bus transportation. Identifying students who will ride the bus allows Transportation Services to create more efficient routes versus routing for all eligible riders.
Please complete the School Bus Registration form if you expect a bus seat to be available for their child!
The School Bus Rider Registration form is available to parents, schools, and Student Enrollment staff by accessing the Skyward portal. If you are having trouble accessing Skyward for your student, please email hunterscreek_ms@ocps.net with as much information about the problem you are having as possible (screenshots are helpful).
OCPS Transportation information can be found at https://www.ocps.net/departments/transportation_services if you have any further questions about buses.
