PFL Summer Fall Book Group: next meeting, September 25 @3:00 pm

Hello Bookies!

Autumn is in the air, and we have made our selections for the Fall Book Group Reading. We have a new day - the last Wednesday of the month at 3:00 pm. I want to explore the possibility of adding a monthly Saturday afternoon session, as well - same books - for those who are not able to meet during the work week. Let me know (by reply to this email) if that is an option that would appeal to you.

For now, we'll plan to meet on the following dates to discuss:

September 25: Theme: Vietnam War

Nonfiction: The Best and the Brightest by David Halberstam

Fiction: The Women by Kristin Hannah

October 30: Theme: Native American, Identity

Nonfiction: Birding while Indian: a mixed-blood memoir by Thomas Gannon

Fiction: Night of the Living Rez: Stories by Morgan Talty

November 27: Theme: Arab-Israeli Conflict

Nonfiction: The Lemon Tree: an Arab, a Jew, and the heart of the Middle East by Sandy Tolan

Fiction: To the End of the Land by David Grossman

December 23: (Monday due to holiday)Theme: History of illumination

Nonfiction: Brilliant: the evolution of artificial light by Jane Brox

Fiction: Last Days of Night by Graham Moore

I look forward to another season of good reading and great discussion. You all bring so much to the table!

Elizabeth
