The 2023-24 bowling season saw an increase in tournament participation as both the Ohio State USBC Open Championships and the Ohio State USBC Women’s Championships increased in entries.The Open Championships are half over as the team competition continues at Victory Lanes in Springfield with the doubles and singles at Beaver Vue in Dayton.The Women’s Championships have two weeks down with the team event held at Bowlero in Fostoria and the doubles and singles at Toledo Sports Center. Scores have been high and we hope you’ve had the opportunity to participate in the competition and FUN of bowling in your state championships!


We are just two weeks away from the Opening of the Ohio State USBC Youth Championships being held at Park Centre Lanes in North Canton.Tournament opens on April 13th and 14th and continues April 20th and 21st. Entry fee is $30.00 per event with an additional $5.00 which may be added in each event for the optional actual categories. Entries are based on average categories in four divisions and all divisions are handicapped at 90% of 225. On-line entry is available now and walk-in will also be accepted. At least 1 of 7 bowlers (or any portion thereof) in each division will be awarded a scholarship.


Entries will soon be out for the Ohio State USBC Buckeye All Events Championships. The event will be held at HP Lanes in Columbus on Saturday, June 1st with squads at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. The tournament is open to the 2023-2024 All Events Handicap and Actual winners in both the Open and the Women’s Championship Tournament in any Ohio State USBC affiliated association where All Events are part of the local association tournament. Entry fee is $40.00 and entries close on May 20, 2024. The 2022-23 Champions were: Women’s Handicap - Diana Yoho – Woodsfield USBC; Women’s Actual – Andrea Behr – Gr. Dayton USBC; Open Handicap – Kevin McCoy – Jackson County USBC and Open Actual - James Cheff – Gr. Youngstown USBC. Which associations will lay claim to the 2024 Buckeye All Events Championship Titles?


The 2024 Annual Meeting of the Ohio State USBC will be held on Saturday May 18th at the Embassy Suites in Dublin, Ohio. Saturday morning starts with a Delegate Welcome Party and Exchange Mart at 10:00 am, followed by the Related Clubs Luncheon where many awards will be presented by the clubs as well as the Ohio State USBC Daniel L. Martin Coach of the Year and the Volunteer of the Year. Tickets are $30.00 and deadline for tickets is May 3rd. Delegate packets will be mailed mid-April and will contain forms for the Luncheon as well as tickets for the

Hall of Fame Gala on Saturday evening, where we will be celebrating the achievements of six of Ohio’s premier performers on the lanes. Inductees are: Michael Llaneza for Superior Performance – Professional; Richie Brown for Superior Performance Professional; David Welage for Superior Performance; Dan Stelter for Superior Performance; Tim Weisbrod for Superior Performance; and Katherine Ann Brown for Superior Performance. Tickets for the Hall of Fame Gala are $55.00 and deadline for ordering is April 30, 2024.
